Out looking for quartz rocks to crush up looking for gold…
Checking a dry creek bedFor little quartz rocks…
The girls have found a handfulof them…

BUILDING BUSH SHELTERS
Mrs Lavery explains the Bush Shelter activity to the students
Students need to form a team and collect things to use for their shelter…
It has to be big enough for them all to fit inside…
They need to explain the features And make up a song and dance
to promote it.

Next we visited Warden Finnerty’s House. It was built by the Bunning Brothers in the early days before they became well known…

Old Jack, the prospector’s gravesite...
This large grave site is that of the explorer, Ernest Giles and was paid for by the governmentas a sign of respect…
Back at the museum in the Town Hall…
Story is about the rescue of Modesto Varischetti who was trapped in the mine when it flooded…
They rushed divers and their gear to Coolgardie by train, creating a record for the fastest train trip and saved him. One of their suits is shown here…
Our buses lined up outside the Town Hall…great old building…
Vic invited us over the road to see his mate Maurie’s Collection of old equipment and other things…
He even had a Dalek like those In the Dr Who TV Show, much to the excitement of Misters, Sanderson and Sherlock…

CAMP BIRTHDAYS
Shiva and Evie had birthdays on camp…thank you to the kitchen staff who made and decorated such beautiful cakes for them…
GAMES NIGHT
After singing Happy Birthday, we had a lot of fun playing lots of different games…
