• England, Wales and Northern Ireland– 3 years BA BSc, not much flexibiltiy– ‘Major’ subjects from day 1
• Scotland– 4 years BA BSc, MA MSc, greater
flexibility in first years of ‘major’ related subjects but can take courses outwith
UK Degrees• ‘and’ or ‘with’
– ‘Politics and History’• Double major with equal emphasis on
both subjects – VERY heavy workload– ‘Politics with History’
• Major/minor with major stated first, still heavy workload but less so
• Sandwich Courses – ‘SW’– Offer a one year placement in relevant
industry, usually in Y3
