INFORMATION ABOUT DAV UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE-CUM-SCHOLARSHIP TEST

The DAV University is holding Entrance cum Scholarship test (DAVUET-2017) on 30th

April,

2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

B.Tech./B.Sc/B.Com/BBA

A candidate who is appearing or has appeared in the qualifying examination, i.e.

12th Standard in 2017. However, he/she shall be admitted to the course only, if he/she

provides the proof of passing the qualifying examination with the required pass

percentage of marks at the time of admission.

A candidate who has passed 10+2 or any other equivalent examination with required

aggregate of marks (follow the website www.davuniversity.org) in respective subject

combinations given under section 3. A relaxation of 5% marks will be given to SC

Candidates.

M.Com./MBA

A candidate who is appearing or has appeared in the qualifying examination

(graduation in any discipline). However, he/she shall be admitted to the course only, if

he/she provides the proof of passing the qualifying examination with the required pass

percentage of marks at the time of admission.

A candidate who has passed the graduate or any other equivalent examination with

required aggregate of marks (follow the website www.davuniversity.org) in respective

The candidates having compartment in qualifying examination at the time of admission will not be

considered for the merit list of both MBA and M.Com programmes.

The university reserves the right to alter the combination of subjects for admission to any

programme.

4. PATTERN OF QUESTION PAPER

The Question paper shall be based on CBSE syllabi of 10+1 and 10+2 for UG courses.

Question paper will be in English language only and questions will be of multiple choices

(MCQ) type. Each question will have 4 choices out of which only one correct answer has

to be chosen and the appropriate circle is to be shaded on the provided OMR sheet. Each

question will carry one mark. The question paper will have the following four sections:

For B.teh/B.Sc.

5. HOW TO APPLY

The candidate is required to fill registration form preferably online by visiting the website

www.davuniversity.org.

For Choice of centre, click State > District > City > Centre on the online form

Click the ‘Submit’ button and take printout of the Admit cards generated automatically.

Affix recent passport size photograph on each admit card and sign wherever required

Retain Student’s Copy and submit other two admit cards by hand or by registered post /

speed post/courier along-with the requisite fee (see point 6) to the examination centre

selected by the candidate in his/her application form. List of test centres is given in

Annexure-I.

However, the candidate may also get the registration form from the Principal of the opted

examination centre by paying Rs.200/- and follow the above procedure.

Note:

The filled-in form should be sent to respective centers only.

Candidates are advised to retain a photo copy of the filled-in application form and admit

card for future reference.

The University will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in postal transit.

6. MODE OF PAYMENT

a)Cash

The candidate can pay the fee of Rs. 200/- to the Examination Centre opted by the

candidate.

Or

b)Multicity cheque or Demand Draft

The fee can also be deposited through Multicity cheque/DD of Rs 200/-drawn in

favour of “Principal, ………………..”, (fill in respective examination centre) payable

at the respective city. Candidate should write his/her name, address and mobile number

on the reverse side of multicity cheque/DD. In case DAV University is opted as a

test centre the Multicity cheque/DD of Rs 200/- is to be drawn in favour of Registrar,

DAV University, Jalandhar

Note:

Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

The applications will be processed on receipt of payment. The online

application form registered within due date without deposition of requisite fee will

not be entertained.

7. REJECTION OF APPLICATION FORM

1. Incomplete Application form will be rejected.

2. Candidates are advised to submit only one Application Form.

3. No request regarding non-receipt of Online Application Form would be entertained.

8. TEST CENTRESFOR DAVUET–2017

i. List of Centres numbers across India where DAVUET-2017 is to be conducted appears in

Annexure-I.

ii. The candidate should select only one centre for the entrance test from Annexure-I.

iii. The examination centre once filled in the application form will not be changed.

iv. Though every effort will be made to allot the centre selected by the candidate, yet the

University reserves the right to allot the centre other than the candidate’s choice.

9. ADMIT CARD

Admit Card once generated should be carefully examined by the candidate. If any

discrepancy is noticed it should immediately be brought to the notice of the Admission

coordinator in the respective test centre.

No candidate will be permitted to appear in the test without a valid Admit Card.

Candidate must not tamper with the Admit Card.

The Admit Card is not transferable to any other person

The Admit Card is an important document. It should be preserved and produced at the

time of counseling and admission.

10. ENTRANCE EXAMINATION RULES

Candidates are directed to enter the respective Examination Hall 30 minutes prior to the

commencement of the examination.

Candidates will not be permitted to enter the Examination Hall 30 minutes after the

commencement of the examination.

Candidates should find and occupy their allotted seats as per the seating plan.

Any other text material in printed or written form (i.e. log tables, formula book etc.) and

electronic devices (i.e. bluetooth, mobile phone, pager, programmable calculators etc.)

will not be permitted into the examination hall.

Only blue/black ball-point pens are allowed for shading the appropriate circles on the

OMR sheet.

Candidates need to read all the instructions given on the question paper and OMR sheet

before attempting the paper.

The candidates will have to return the original OMR Sheet and question paper to the

Invigilator before leaving the examination hall.

The maximum qualification of a writer in case of medical emergency is Matric. The

candidate should contact the Admission coordinator of his/her respective centre before the

commencement of the entrance test for the arrangement of writer and other formalities.

Any malpractice committed during examination would lead to cancellation of the

eligibility of the candidate for admission.

DAVU Entrance-cum-scholarship Test (DAVUET-2017) will be governed by the rules

and regulations of the DAV University Jalandhar.

DAV University reserves the right to withdraw permission, if any, granted inadvertently

to any candidate who is not eligible to appear in the DAVUET-2017)even though the Roll

Number and Admit Card may have been issued.

No TA will be paid to the candidates.

Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.

Candidates will not be allowed to write any question from the Test Booklet on the

Admission Card or on any other paper to be taken out of the examination hall.

All legal disputes pertaining to this Test shall fall within the jurisdiction of Jalandhar

Courts only.

Appearance in DAVUET-2017 not confers any right on the candidate for admission to

any course. This will be decided solely on merit in Entrance Test and production of

eligibility documents at the time of admission.

The admission to DAV University, Jalandhar is subject to fulfillment of the eligibility and

any other criteria as prescribed by the DAV University, Jalandhar.

Instructions in the Information Bulletin are subject to change from time to time. There is

no equity or right that is deemed to be arising in favour of candidates.

In case any information in the candidate’s application is found to be false or incorrect at

any time (even during or after completion of the course), it shall entail automatic

cancellation of candidate’s admission, if granted, cancellation of the degree if awarded,

besides rendering him/her liable to such action as the University may deem fit. The

interpretation of the University authorities shall be final and binding.

11. DECLARATION OF RESULT

After the evaluation of Answer Sheets result is likely to be declared in May, 2017 and the same

will be available on the University website www.davuniversity.org.

A merit list will be prepared based on the total marks secured in the DAVUET-2017.

There will be no separate merit list of SC/ST candidates.

There is no provision for re-checking/re-evaluation of the answer sheets. No correspondence in

this regard will be entertained.

12. COUNSELLING RULES

The date / time for counseling will be displayed on the university website:

www.davuniversity.org. Candidates can download and take a printout of his/her

counseling letter/ counseling record from the University website and appear for the

counseling as per the counseling schedule.

Short-listed candidates based on their performance in the entrance examination will be

called for the counseling to be held at the DAV University premises in Jalandhar,

Punjab and/ or at a Centre to be notified later subsequent to the declaration of the

result.

It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they possess the requisite

qualification for admission or not. Having been called for the counseling does not

necessarily mean the acceptance of eligibility claimed by the candidate.

The provisional admission offered to a candidate to a program will stand cancelled if he

/ she does not submit the relevant documents in original, pertaining to admission (such

as Marks Statements, Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate, etc.).

Change of date / time of counseling is generally not permissible. If a candidate does not

appear for counseling / Interview on the date and time specified, his / her seat shall be

offered to the next candidate in order of merit.

The selected candidates will have to deposit the prescribed fee on confirmation of the

seat and acceptance of the branch allotted.

The candidates should produce the following documents in original along with one set

of photocopies while reporting for counseling. Candidates will not be allowed to

participate in the counseling process without these documents.

Note:

Candidates who have appeared in JEE mains will also be considered for engineering

branches for seats left vacant after the counseling. The Candidate who has appeared in

CAT/MAT test is exempted from taking DAV University MBA Eligibility test. He/she

can apply for admission in MBA program on the basis of percentile score in these tests.

13. SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarships will be disbursed to top 10% students who take admission in DAV

University Jalandhar.
