KPI-3020R Data Sheet Preliminary Description
KPI-3020R is a very small package that is a phototransistor out, thin and mini-sized Photo Reflector Package of Surface Mount type. It is a specially assembled transfer and injection mold for high reliability and compatible for reflow soldering. We’ve applied black EMC to emitting and receiving part to minimize the effect of luminous energy, also it operates with accurate optical power since the outward of product is surrounded by Housing to interfere with inflow light. This Photo Reflector is possibly controlled in compliance with customer’s applications. Applications

Moisture Guideline This part is compliant to JEDEC Level 2a. To avoid moisture absorption during transportation and storage. KPI-3020R reels are packed in Moisture Barrier Bag. Once opened, moisture absorption begins. So the user must keep these parts in a recommended environment to prevent moisture entry. (Please refer to below packing process)

Baking Condition If the parts are not stored in dry conditions, they must be baked before reflow to prevent damage to the parts.
Package Temperature Time In Reel 60°C 48 hours In Bulk 100°C 4 hours
Baking should only be done once.
Recommended Storage Conditions
Storage Temperature 10°C to 30°C
Relative Humidity Below 60% RH
Time from unsealing to soldering; After removal from the bag, the parts should be soldered within 168 hours if stored at the recommended storage conditions. If times Longer than 168 hours are needed, the parts must be stored in a dry box. Electro static

Soldering Method Reflow Soldering:
Notes; - For manual soldering, you have to use SnPb(63/37) or Silver solder and complete the soldering within 3
seconds under 380 (the temperature at the tip of soldering iron). - Reflow soldering should follow the temperature profile shown below. Soldering should not exceed the
curve of temperature profile and time. Please solder within one time. Cleaning instructions
Ultrasonic cleaning : - Do not execute ultrasonic cleaning.
Recommended solvent materials : - Ethyl alcohol, Methyl alcohol and Isopropyl alcohol.

Cautions in Usage - Store products where there is no exterior force causing product to be deformed or change in quality.
- Store and use where there is no Hydrogen Sulfide gas, or any other corrosive gas.
- Do not allow dirt or dust to fill in the active lens part.
- Do not cleanse as cleansing may be let in the package. If necessary uses air blow or a soft cloth soaked
in cleansing agent.
