Data Briefing: Clothing and Footwear Market Growth In this briefing, we wrap up data on apparel and footwear markets to show their growth trajectories in selected major countries. In the first section, we provide year-over-year growth rates for the apparel and footwear markets in the UK, Germany, France and the US, based on consumer-spending data from the countries’ respective national statistics offices. In the second section, we show growth rates and forecasts from market-research firm Euromonitor International. We provide growth rates for spending in current prices and in constant prices—i.e., including inflation and excluding inflation. All growth rates are based on data in national currencies, to exclude currency effects. As the tables below show, in both current prices and constant prices, the clothing and footwear markets in the UK, Germany, France and the US continued to register positive growth in 2015.
