Project Planning and Earned Value Composite

• DP010 – Project Planning and Earned Value Composite Demonstration

Project Planning:

• Project Planning Workbench that allows simple time-phased cost planning

• MS Project Schedule integration (DP051)

• Maintain Control Accounts and Work Packages

• Allows multiple cost plans and labor plans on a single project object (NWA)

• Plan a “Claim” and trigger approval process to “Incorporate” the plans (Baseline and EAC)

• Workflow Change Management

• Detailed Baseline Change Log

• Baseline Integrated Master Schedule

• Government Cost Performance Reports

• Integrated Graphical Reporting

Estimate at Complete (EAC)

• Estimate At Complete (EAC) Workbench has similar planning functionality as the Project Planning Workbench

• The concept is to show the actual costs/commitments and allow PLANNING and updates on the EAC.

• Automatically or Manually create an Estimate to Complete (ETC)*

• Actual Costs/Commitments + ETC = EAC

• Use an existing plan and decrements the actual cost to derive the ETC

• Use an existing EAC version and decrements the actual cost to derive the ETC

• Manually plan an ETC in the EAC Workbench

Dassian Project Planning Functionality Overview – EVMS

EV Methods

• Start/Finish

• Level Of Effort

• Estimates

• Weighted Milestones – Includes assignment of many SAP objects as milestones (example: sales order, production order, purchase order). The manual milestones can be assigned a percent complete.

• Apportioned efforts

• EAC Proportional (PERT)

The earned value methods and calculations use the latest EVMS concepts and allow for simple or sophisticated EVMS processes.

The EVMS functionality will allow for integration with the whole SAP ERP suite of information.

Project Management - Change Control

Page 10: Dassian Program Plans and Controls (PPC)

Functionality Overview - Assign Control Accounts, Control Account Managers, Work Packages, Default EV Methods, and Attach Documents/Links

The Control Account is normally defined as the level

that you can aggregate BCWS, BCWP, and Actuals AND

is a level that is controlled by a single organization.

The Work Package is the level of the project that the

user plans at and maintains a default EV method.

Project Management – Control Accounts

Page 11: Dassian Program Plans and Controls (PPC)

Functionality Overview - Automatically create EAC (forecasts)

The concept of an EAC is Actual costs plus

remaining plan. The functionality allows for

automatically creating an EAC based on existing

information. The data for the EAC comes from

the snapshot data which allows creation of an

EAC based on data at any time in the past.

Building an Estimate at Completion (EAC)

Functionality Overview - Capture and store data at a fixed point in time

Capture and store data by time period

and snapshot actuals, specific versions,

or the project hierarchy.

Functionality Overview - Maintain EV Methods, Status, and Calculate BCWP

Update the project EV methods, manage the EV milestones,

status the progress for each planning object, calculate BCWP,

and view columns displaying the project metrics.
