  • Never Seen in any part of the world other than in Sri Lanka. It is also true that no leader after the times of kings, could make such miracle with present structured theories of Management

  • Whats the Miracle..?What was theory behind Managing the scarce & valuable resources like Time, Human, Natural & Moral towards an exceptional creation?

  • DASA RAJA DHARMA

    TEN ROYAL QUALITIES in Management

  • Dana-Giving

Giving away not only money, and grains to the needy, but the knowledge, opportunities etc. as and when need arises A leader of any type of community like a country, an organization, a school etc. can achieve the required target through the practice of Giving. In a present business organization giving attractive salaries, wages, bonuses, allowances, training, career opportunities improves the productivity of the organization, thus the expected outcome.

  • Sila - VirtueA person who practices Sila in his management have standards of morality, confirming to moral principals, goodness or righteousness. The five precepts of Lord Buddha, Panchasila guide the person, not only in managing a community, but his own life, is the foundation of Virtue, which can eradicate each and every conflict in present business communities.

  • The kings ruled our country sacrificed their treasury, comfort, time ,energy and pleasures for the sake of the welfare of society. Which led the country towards the economic & social development. In modern business environment if the employers money, time or comfort is sacrificed towards the well-being of the employees, it naturally becomes the best motivating factor Each & every western theory in motivation is explained with a single word.Parithyaga Sacrifice

  • Riju Straightforwardness / UprightnessA manager with a stable personality who does not change for personal rewards or interests, is the expectation of any subordinate. Which is explained with the concept Riju. He always acts without fear for challenges, without special favor for any party, without hiding the truth and without taking narrow decisions with hatred or anger. A honest & straightforward manger can reach towards the organizational goals without hurting his competitors as well as his subordinates.

  • A precious management characteristic which can only be found in Ten Royal Virtues, among various theories of Management. We may find millions of instances where various communities fail due to lack of this quality today. Gentleness & Flexibility go hand in hand. Flexibility in making decisions never becomes a weakness, but make the hands of an employer strong with the loyalty of employees.Mrudu Soft, Kindness & Gentleness

  • Controlling & guarding of the doors of the senses is itself the Austerity.

In nature, the desire has no end; the doors of senses are open freely towards greed. A well recognized businessman locally always try to become the most preferred businessman internationally. As a result of taking the wrong path with the practice of indulgence.

Think of the cause of following recent incidents;* The recently experienced drops in financial services sector in Sri LankaThapasa - Restraint of senses and austerity in habits

  • e.g. Sakvithi Management Services case emphasizing the lack of restraints in both owner and the customers of the organization* Collapse in Ceylinco Group* The on going terrorist activities for over 20 years in Sri Lanka* The imprisonment of Olympic Medalist Marian JonesAkkodha Non Hatred

An aggressive person who jumps into quick decisions, a revengeful person who has a corrupt mind will never takes a correct decision & never becomes a good leader. He should bear no grudge against anybody and should be a calm, quiet and easily approachable person because employees always try to follow their employer. As much as the gap reduces between the employer & employee in an organization, the production or the outcome increases.

  • Avihimsa Non Violence This means freedom from hatred, ill-will, enmity. The ruler or leader who harass his fellowmen can use dictatorial power, to govern a state or an organization but the majority of people dislike him.

  • Khanti Patience & Tolerance Achieving Success in simple means is facing challenges. To survive in the present competitive & stressful commercial world a manager should analyze and forecast always towards a correct pathway. This can be done only through the patience. Jumping in to decisions without analyzing the situation may incur a unrecoverable failure in any community like a family, a village or a country, not only in a business organization. Therefore Khanti or the Patience becomes a critical feature in Management.

  • Avirodhata Non-Opposition/ Non-Conflict In an organization, people come across diverse personalities which have to be tolerated and associated. A leader should possess the ability to keep a perfect environment among the mentioned subordinates. That is explained by the word Avoirodhatha. Coordinating regularly with the workers in critical decision making, will assist the leaders to survive & gain competitive advantage, as diverse & creative ideas come up. Most of the conflicts between the labour communities and the governments or heads of the private organizations arise due to the lack of the concept discussed here. A peaceful working environment always becomes more efficient & effective, hence more productive.
