SUMMARY

I have been employed by Sonat/Transocean since January of 1988. I have worked my way up from a floor hand to Senior Tool Pusher. Most of my career was spent in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

I have spent from 2010 to December 2012 in the harsh Environment on the Grand Banks off the coast of New Found land in the North Atlantic. I spent another 18 month working in the North Sea also harsh Environment.

Being an employee with Transocean I have been an avid participant in the safety program and a leader in setting an example of a safety culture other and mostly younger rig employees.

I understand the mentorship that is needed for the younger employees to gain and become consistent with the culture of safety that is demanded of workers in the oil industry.

Today the challenges that we are encountering with the safety and performance aspects of the job takes a different mindsets than what I originally learned when I was a young floor hand coming up through the ranks. The challenge we are facing in the industry I believe is a tough as they get. Not only are we safety driven but also performance generated which sometimes go together like oil and water. This has been the key to our success as an industry. The task of working in an environment where the axiom of today is be working safe, smart and satisfying the client with a safe and efficient job is the culture that we have brought.

I definitely have the experience, initiative and the mindset to continue with the mentorship and leadership skills that I have gained through time and experience. There is an old saying that “ you really never learn until you are removed from one environment an placed in a new one and I am well prepared for new experiences and enviroments.
