Dare to be different l It’s been a very damp week this week as it seems like the rain has fallen constantly! Thankfully we’ve had some sunshine today so the children have been able to get some much needed fresh air. Our Year 2 children are currently on their ‘holiday’ (the children’s words!) to Eden and I know they’ve already had a fantastic time exploring the biomes, ice-skating and having guided tours under cover of darkness. I’m sure they’ll all be suitably worn out but full of exciting tales of their adventures upon their return this afternoon. We’re starting next week with a ‘bang!’ (quite literally) as the brilliant ‘Wonderstruck’ are with us all day carrying out some amazing science experiments with all of our KS2 children. As if that wasn’t enough, they are beginning the day with a dangerously exciting science show in the hall. Keep a look out for some photos and videos on our Facebook page throughout Monday. We hope the weather is kind over the weekend! Attendance Winners!

On Tuesday our Sports hall athletic teams took part in the Peninsula Finals at Penryn College. As you may have seen on Facebook, we

had a successful day! The Year 3/4 came 1st and have qualified for the Cornwall School Games final which is taking place at Truro

School on Friday 24th April. All 18 members of the team were excellent, we won several running races as well as performing admirably

in the field events. All 6 of our foam javelin throwers excelled! A special mention to Ava W, who took a tumble in the hurdles relay.

We were in the lead when she took the tumble but she got straight back to her feet and carried on like a pro which meant we were able

to claw our way back into 3rd place and gain those valuable points! A great show of determination from Ava which made us very proud!

Well done Y3/4 on qualifying for the finals and good luck!!

Our Year 5/6 team were unfortunate not to qualify, the competition was tough but we also performed well in most races. Alexa & Maisie

won the tough 6 lap relay with relative ease whilst the boys (Josh & Seth) came 3rd in their 6 lap relay. The boys also ran an excellent

4x1 relay and finished 3rd! We were certainly in amongst the pack throughout the afternoon but unfortunately didn’t gain enough points

to join the Y3/4 team in the final! Another solid performance and good experience nonetheless! A massive thank you to all the staff who

supported us yesterday, getting 36 children to Penryn and swapping groups within an hour is no mean feat. Your time & efforts were

very much appreciated!

Today we have 16 children taking part in a swimming gala, this gala is aimed at children who do not compete outside of school! We’ve

also taken the opportunity to involve children who haven’t yet represented the school in a sporting capacity where possible! We wish

them luck & thank Mrs Wells & Mrs Clark for accompanying the children in my absence!

Myself & the West Ham football trip crew set off this morning & are currently on route to Wembley Stadium. We’ll post

throughout the day & tomorrow on our school Facebook page so please keep an eye on that!

We will be advertising TWO rugby trips soon, one to the Cornish Pirates on Sunday 1st March which is suitable for all of KS2 children &

one to Twickenham stoop to watch England Women take on Wales in the Women’s 6 Nations on Saturday 7th March! This trip will be a

longer day and is more suited to Year 5/6.
