Make sure to get a scoop of delicious ice cream at the Café La Gelateria.
Small but nice – the shopping street with little coffee shops and restaurants.

Check out the „Kaffeehaus“ for breakfast. The swiss breakfast
with „Bircher- muesli“ is amazing!
The Palace square attracts a lot of people because of the stylish bars, restaurants and
coffee shops located on each side of the street. In the summer everybody sits outside
and enjoys good food, drinks and the sun.

Enjoy a glass of „Wilder Ritter“ (wild knight) !
Schwetzingen has two local breweries. The Schwetzinger BRAUHAUS is
my favourite one and has a huge variety of home-brewed beers.

Don´t miss the Asparagus Festival the first weekend in may.
Schwetzingen claims to be the asparagus capital of the world with its
asparagus harvesting season between april and june. Due to the fact that
asparagus brought economical wealth they built a sculpture in the market
square of a young girl helping her mother stack asparagus.

Every second year the Lichterfest (light Festival) takes place – this
year mark 30th of july in your calendar for an unforgettable festival and fireworks.
The castle was built between 1700 and 1750 and was the summer residence
of the Electors Palatine Karl III Philip and Charles Theodore .
