EDITOR’SNOTE

April is the first month of the first quarter of our financial year and so it is fitting that

we reflect on the year gone by and plan for success in the year ahead.

As a business we must ask whether we have met the various commitments we

made to our clients, ourselves and our shareholders and similarly as individuals,

whether our commitments to ourselves, our families, our teams and to the business

were met.

Remember failure is the fertilizer of success and so where we have fallen we need

to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and start afresh. Life is generous in affording

us an infinite number of “fresh starts” and so the door to success and achieving

great things is never closed. Take advantage of this generosity and make a fresh

start today!

As a business, we have made a fresh start and are undergoing a process of

fundamental change. These changes are designed to accommodate both the

aspirational and inspirational energy in each one of us and to ensure that before the

year is out we are recognized as the top collection business in South Africa.

Our business comprises of businesses within businesses with the principal or

nucleus business being the Agent. Every person engaged in collections whether as

an agent, Coach, QA, Team Manager or Floor Manager is a separate business and

has the ability to determine his or her earnings. These earnings will depend on the

collections/earnings of the Agent. No agent must be prejudiced or preferred over

another and so it is up to each agent to “shout” when they feel this is happening.

The support team (HR, Training, IT, Data, Legal, Admin, SAMs and Execs) members

are like a Grand Prix Pit Stop Mechanics. Their job is to ensure that the Agent’s car

is in tip top racing condition and stays on the track. If an Agent is not performing it

can only be as a result of the Agent or the support team. The successful agents will

build bigger and bigger customer bases of paying FXA debtors and will continuously

follow up with their customers for opportunities to improve their payment arrange-

ments.

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of our lives! Let’s have a great year and take the

chequered flag when we cross the line!

ROBIN SHARMAʼS 12 FAST TIPS FOR PERSONAL SUCCESS

DID YOU KNOW?

1. Make excellence your way of being (versus a once in a while event).

2. Make the choice to let go of your past. It’s dusty history. And polluting your future.

3. Plan your week on a schedule (clarity is the DNA of mastery).

4. Remember that victims are frightened by change. And leaders grow inspired by it.

5. Clean out any form of “victim speak” in your vocabulary and start running the language

of leadership and possibility.

6. Remember that to double your income, triple your investment in learning, coaching

and self-education.

7. Give your customers 10X the value they pay for (“The 10X Value Obsession”).

8. Become the ttest person you know.

9. Become the strongest person you know.

10. Become the kindest person you know.

11. Know that potential unexpressed turns to pain.

12. Give your life to a project bigger than yourself.

Approximately 46.9% or 9.24 million of these consumers

have impaired credit records. Daly has 1.1 million open debt

accounts and approximately 700 000 debtors of the country’s debtors on its

books.

Between 2010 and 2013, Daly’s total staff compliment grew from 192 to 571 and the total number of call centre agents grew from 99 to 394.

Daly has integrated the Siphosethu Primary School in Mount Edgecombe into their Social Economic Development program and has committed to donate a percentage of net profit after tax on an annual basis to this cause.

The combination of Daly’s desire to help impoverished community members, and those who already had the interests of the school and its learners at heart, established the core for developing the Erica Goss Trust with its current and founding trustees Mr Bill Daly, Mr

Pat Goss (son of Mrs Erica Goss), Mr Pierre Neethling (a Mount Edgecombe resident) and Mr Andy McNabb (CEO of Daly Credit Corporation). Additional Trustees are: Mrs Maureen Dixon, Mrs Pat Mounter and the principal of Siphosethu School, Mrs Lindeni

Gumede.

The Trust is the recipient of all donations; the conduit for managing and administering incoming and outgoing funds. It is responsible for producing Annual Financial Statements for SARS, and is the only channel for obtaining Tax relief on donations. The Trust executes the aims and objectives of the Trust Deed. The Trust is registered and constituted, with Trust No. IT1002/2010/PMB. All donations are

tax deductible, and qualify the donors for BEE points. Daly is proud to be associated with this worthy cause.

Remember when... Year End Function 2004

As part of my charity & distribution initiatives I have decided to do another winter warmth drive to assist the community during this winter.

I did do a collection effort of collecting unwanted bedding/clothing/ children stuff & groceries in Feb/Mar 2013 and that was a huge success. To all those that donated items – heartfelt thanks. The items were distributed evenly on a mission to Dundee as well as orphanages in Durban.

With Winter just around the corner and many families within our community surviving on bare or no essentials – I would like to humbly request everyone to partner with me & my team to make a difference in someone’s life.

If you or your teams would like to donate or sponsor any items listed below please contact me: Sunitha Pillay:

You can see that people, who read more often, frequently have a bigger knowledge on life and also a bigger perspective of their environment.

I think that fact gives them an advantage over all others who do not read frequently.

Reading helps in expanding on your general culture, to have more fun, to make your imagination fly - imagination also represents a tool that could help you to develop your professional career in a creative way and to find new ways to express your ideas, and finally to expand your vocabulary.

Loan a book today and increase your knowledge and build on your creativity!

Jerry Jones applied to a debt-collecting agency for a job, even though he had no experience.

He was very intense, so the manager gave him a tough account with the promise that if he

collected, he'd get the job.Two hours later, Jerry returned – with the full

amount!

"Amazing!" said the manager. "How on earth did you manage that?"

"Easy," replied Jerry, "I told him that if he didn't pay up, I'd tell all his other creditors he'd paid

us."

In this illusion, black spots quickly appear and disappear at the intersections.
