Lap-Band SurgeryLAP-BAND® System Surgery at Bariatric Solutions
The LAP-BAND® System surgery, commonly called adjustable gastric banding, is a restrictive surgery that is completely reversible and does not require manipulation of the intestinal system.
LAP-BAND® System surgery is one of the most popular weight loss surgery options. It is an effective, yet minimally-invasive treatment for obesity. Unlike Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy surgeries, LAP-BAND® System surgery does not involve stapling or removal of parts of the stomach or intestines. Instead, a small adjustable band is placed around the stomach to reduce the size of the stomach.
Gastric BypassProviding DFW and Southern Oklahoma with Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery
In keeping with their commitment to providing the best surgical solutions for obesity available, Dr. Scott Stowers and Dr. Dirk Rodriguez offer Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery at Bariatric Solutions. This procedure facilitates weight loss by reducing the stomach size and diminishing caloric absorption in the small intestine, producing results that can be life changing. Visit our gallery of bariatric surgery results to view the transformations some of our patients from the DFW area have enjoyed after gastric bypass surgery; then, contact our obesity surgeon to learn more about how he can help you to achieve similar success.
Gastric SleeveGastric Sleeve Surgery – Fort Worth and North Texas Bariatric Treatment
Bariatric Solutions provides sleeve gastrectomy, or gastric sleeve surgery, for patients in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and surrounding North Texas communities as well as Southern Oklahoma. Gastric sleeve surgery is unique in that it facilitates weight loss by permanently reducing the size of the stomach. It does not require gastric bypass or insertion of a gastric band like other bariatric surgery options. Dr. Scott Stowers and Dr. Dirk Rodriguez are experienced in performing sleeve gastrectomy and have helped many patients achieve significant weight loss with this procedure. If you would like further information on how you, too, may benefit from sleeve gastrectomy, we welcome you to schedule a consultation with our bariatric team.
Realize BandHow the REALIZE® Adjustable Gastric Band helps you lose weight
During the gastric band procedure, the REALIZE® Band is placed around the uppermost part of the stomach, dividing it into two parts: a small upper pouch and a lower stomach. The upper pouch can hold only about 4 ounces (1/2 cup) of food. As a result, you eat less food at one time, feel full sooner, and feel satisfied longer.
The goal is to lose weight gradually, at a healthy rate of 1 to 2 pounds per week.
Single Incision ApproachThe SILS (Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery) is the latest significant advance in laparoscopic surgery that is performed through a single incision in the belly button area. Instead of requiring several small incisions associated with traditional laparoscopic surgery that may leave visible scars, the SILS procedure is performed through a single incision resulting in the potential for reduced scarring. This may minimize the scars and wound pain associated with the multiple points of entry used during traditional laparoscopic surgery. Only your Bariatric surgeon can decided if you are a candidate for this surgical approach. SILS can be done for the Laparoscopic Adjustable Band and Sleeve Gastrectomy.
Revision SurgeryWhat is a revisional bariatric surgery?
A revisional bariatric surgery is performed to repair, restore or improve the effectiveness of a previous bariatric procedure. Our surgeons are experienced at conversions and revisions. Only your surgeon can help you decide what type of revision is best for you.
