FUSION 2.0 GORE-TEX ACTIVE JACKETFrom the company that turned technical rain wear into a household name; the Fusion 2.0 is a perfect choice for the minimalist trail rider. Its tailored cut makes it the most form fi tting of the bunch so it won’t fl ap in the wind while you ride. At just 8.5 ounces it’s also the smallest packing jacket on these pages, we often keep one at the bottom of our pack just in case. A hood hides in the collar or fi ts snuggly under your helmet, while the Gore-Tex Active Shell keeps you dry and is so breathable that it forgoes under-arm ventilation. Other details include storm zippers and a cell phone pocket.
PRICE: $269.99; CONTACT: goreapparel.com
DAKINE CALIBER JACKET 15SAligned with Dakine’s gravity and downhill tendencies, the Caliber jacket features a fuller more all-mountain style cut that looks good on the mountain or at your favorite tavern. The Caliber has a lightweight, breathable, four-way stretch Nylon fabric with fully-taped seams, waterproof zippers, extended back hem and an over-helmet hood. The outside of the jacket feels more like cloth than others while articulated sleeves, a media pocket and pit zip ventilations round out the list of details.
