In the middle of the 18th century Benjamin

Franklin already proved that lightning is

an electrical phenomenon. The invention

of the lightning conductor is based on his

contribution.

Since the foundation of our company in 1910

we have been engaged in lightning

protection for buildings and systems. In 1920,

the founder Hans Dehn already started an

own production of components for external

lightning protection and earthing.

was no longer sufficient. After several

decades of experience in external lightning

protection DEHN + SHNE realised that surge

protection had become a necessity. In 1954,

we released the first generation of surge

communication society with all its possibilities

would be completely unimaginable without it.

However, nothing has only advantages, but has

also disadvantages. The human being is a user

of electrical energy, but, unfortunately, does

not have any sense organs to perceive it and

did not form any natural reflexes to protect

itself against the possible hazards of electrical

energy. By forming and using its knowledge,

adapting its behaviour and by utilising capable

equipment, it must compensate this evolutionary

deficit. Therefore DEHN + SHNE amplified their

scope already in 1952 by safety devices for

working with electrical installations.

The manufacturing site for all three product rangesis situated in Neumarkt in Bavaria, Germany.A lot of single parts necessary for this purpose arealso produced internally in our semipart productionfacility. It ranges from simple bending parts toelectronic circuit boards and from complex turnedparts to plastic enclosures. The necessary moulds,devices and also special machines are designed andengineered in our company.The assembly departments mount the final productstogether, also according to the specifications of ourcustomers. Our hot dip galvanizing and fullyautomatical electroplating department performrequired processing of metal surfaces, e.g. for corrosionprotection to withstand hardest environmentalconditions.

Quality and awareness of environmental protectioncontribute as much to our business objective as thecontinuous improvement of operation processes.A high quality standard of our products is a must, assafety is always a matter of confidence.
