The Forrex system has been redesigned into a solution for a number of other applications other than vehicle protection in Africa due to a large absence in many sectors such as the Forrex conveyor belt system, Forrex heavy machinery system and the Forrex containerized Generator system. industry assesses fire protection within these applications.

Dafo Forrex is one of the world’s leading vehicle engine protection systems. The Forrex solution

is a patented wet chemical solution that has solved all the problems associated with other

systems such as powder, foam and water mist. The Forrex liquid combats fire by first cooling

the affected area immensely, then inhibiting the chemical reaction of the fire and finally creating

a protective layer to stop the fire reigniting.

Forrex AB-50 is certified to extinguish class f fires which includes cooking oils and fats.

We as Firevoid then decided to test out these properties on rubber tyres to verify whether it would be able to provide the required extinguishing effect as it does on oil. This idea was brought by the fact that when a tyre burns to over 400 degrees, it starts melting turning from a solid to a liquid equaling a class f fire which forrex AB-50 is certified on.

The cooling properties were also tested to determine if this same method of suppression or extinguishing would help cool down the steel reinforcement found in and around a burning tyre.

Extinguishes fire through a combination of oxygen depletion and cooling.

The extinguishing agent creates a protective layer that efficiently clings to all surfaces and prevents reignition.

It is very important to cool down overheated parts! Gas, dry chemical or water mist all have a cooling effect but, apart from dry chemical which heavily contaminates the protected area, they all suffer from their light density which makes them easily dispersible. Forrex does not depend on the amount of agent alone to achieve efficient cooling, but also relies on the precision performance of the nozzles, the velocity of the spray and the density of the agent that, when combined, leads to its unsurpassed performance.

Forrex is environmentally friendly.

After release the engine space just needs to be rinsed with water.

Forrex is non-aggressive and does not affect material and components in a harmful way.
