When different materials meet, creating a seal to prevent penetration of water, salt, sand and dust is even more demanding. Special gaskets for fibreglass and steel structures provide the seal required, despite great shear stress.

There is a constant focus on reducing noise from wind turbines, which can be an environmental nuisance. This applies to both high-frequency and low-frequency noise.

Accordingly, effective sound damping is essential for a good outcome so that neighbours and wind turbines can coexist in harmony. DAFA Sound is a com-plete industrial sound damping concept designed and developed to combine sound absorption, sound insulation and structural sound damping – in one or more varieties.

Nacelle

EPDM cellular rubber gaskets are particularly suitable for large roof hatches.

The roof hatch of the nacelle has large surfaces with large tolerances, which must be sealed and capable of diverting water.

The design and the choice of materials are handled individually, corresponding to your specific requirements.

Nacelle

Doors and skylights are sealed using cellular and rubber profiles that can be supplied as rings to ensure a sealed joint. For hatches, self-adhesive sealing strips are used in various elastic materials.

Requirements for sealing doors, hatches and skylights mainly address the need to keep out pouring rain. The solution consists of products which:

Depending on the complexity of the component and its design, we develop and produce a customer-specific tool that is perfectly adapted to the indivi-dual application of one of the following production methods:

The process of moulding fibreglass elements must proceed efficiently and with maximum safety. Our sealing profiles in silicone and other production auxilia-ries contribute to optimising the production process.

Shock-absorbing PE foam with stainless steel-reinforced core to protect the rear edge of the blade.

The solution is primarily intended to protect and secure the trailing edge of the blade when it is attached using transportation straps.

The pressure on the blade is dis-tributed effectively through a steel plate and foam insert. Alternatively, a reinforced PE protective profile can be used.

Blades

The blades must arrive safely on site and should be stored properly.

Rubber mats and foam solutions keep the blades intact. The mats reduce traction during transportation ow-ing to the surface providing suitable contact with the fibreglass.

Ensuring that the tower door is impervious to rain, dust and sand is crucial. The handling can be difficult. A simple, customised sealing profile with or without joints seals the door and facilitates an easy mounting – both when establishing the seal and during maintenance.

The process of establishing a concrete foundation is awkward and time-consuming. This is very much the case with traditional recessing and shuttering using steel and wood. Thus, a custom-ized foam solution ensures particularly quick and effective implementation.

A seal is required when tower sections are joined. Joint sealant can be awk-ward to work with and takes a long time to cure. Cracks – and thus leaks – may appear later.

The solution consists of rubber profiles or self-adhesive and flexible sealing strips.

Clever solution for safely sealed sections

Self-adhesive sealing strips for both vertical and horizontal sealing when assembling tower elements.
