1. Introduction

IMPACT is a project funded by the 7th Framework Programme, under the Future Internet Public-Private

Partnership umbrella [FI-PPP], and is promoted by a consortia formed by Buongiorno, a world class Global

Corporation in the mobile commerce ecosystem; ISDI, the world´s first “internet only” business school

providing an internet business master’s degree integrated with a full start-up support ecosystem; SEAYA, a

venture capital company led by the business angel investor Michael Kleindl, and Teknologiudvikling ApS, a

consultancy firm specialized in funding to properly manage the Open Call process.

For more information visit http://www.impact-accelerator.com/ .

This report includes the description of IMPACT coordination and involvement of stakeholders, both

from inside and outside FI-PPP initiatives, in order to create a sustainable environment of interested

parties around Mobile Content technologies, ensuring the foreseen impact of proposed project actions

and guaranteeing the sustainability beyond FI-PPP funding.

2. IMPACT main Communication Channels

One of the project’s main objective was “to secure a broad participation in the three open calls to be

launched” as described in DUP, as well as a good dissemination of all the activities of the project consortium

and startups involved. The effectiveness of the dissemination strategy is a key aspect to ensure a successful

implementation of the project. Therefore, the consortium has established specific management and monitoring

procedures to assess the impact of the dissemination actions.

IMPACT has selected for its communication and dissemination activities six main communication channels

from offline events to social networks, the channels selected are:

Website (Impact-accelerator.com). The core of online communications, most of efforts in Social

Media are related to bring the community to this website, or to FundingBox website.

Social Media. Among the wide diversity of social networks that exist today IMPACT selected to be

present in 4 networks. These networks are the following:

o Twitter. The Social Network where most entrepreneurs are.

o Facebook. The Social Network, with more than 1,000 million users worldwide.

o LinkedIn. The Social Network for business.

o YouTube. The Video Social Network.

Newsletter. It was used to inform the subscribers about milestones in IMPACT, launch of Open Calls,

important events or the beneficiaries of the acceleration program.

Events. IMPACT has organized 51 events and participated in 40 more organized by third parties.

Media. IMPACT has launched 14 press releases in the main milestones of the project: presentation of

the accelerator, open calls launch or beneficiaries’ presentations.

Partners Networks. IMPACT has used the vast network of contacts of its partners, mentors and

FIWARE to reach the audience.

As part of its communication strategy, IMPACT has set up from the beginning of the project the IMPACT

Cluster bringing together relevant public sector and private/industrial actors, developers and users to ensure

sustainability of the developments under FI-PPP, establishing a network of external stakeholders which will

allow a cooperative approach to identify good practices and success cases and ensuring focused dissemination

about project results and overall FI-PPP initiative.

BUONGIORNO, with the support of all partners prepared a directory that has been updated and enlarged

regularly during the whole project duration.

IMPACT D.5.2 IMPACT CLUSTER DIRECTORY

6

3. Main Work Performed

A cooperation mechanism has been designed for FI-PPP external stakeholders. This group includes private

or public bodies, which may contribute to FI-PPP deployment and sustainability: ICT research centers,

accelerators and SME & web-entrepreneurs service providers, investors, industry, innovation poles,

regional development authorities, etc. The objective of this task was to set up an Innovation Cluster in

order to group and connect interested bodies in contributing, learning and exchanging experiences on FI-PPP,

or more specifically on Internet Mobile Content. This Group will pave the way for transferring the knowledge

gained through the implementation of the open calls and the acceleration programs regarding enablers use and

potential, identifying best practices and use cases to be applied with regional governments and other

stakeholder communities, in order to foster a rapid technology uptake around Internet Mobile Content enablers.

IMPACT D.5.2 IMPACT CLUSTER DIRECTORY

7

4. Main Results Obtained

The IMPACT project set-up an IMPACT Cluster bringing together relevant public sector and

private/industrial parties, developers and users to ensure sustainability of the developments under FI-PPP,

establishing a network of external stakeholders which will allow a cooperative approach to identify good

practices and success cases and ensuring focused dissemination about project results and overall FI-PPP

initiatives. In this sense, Buongiorno, as project coordinator and leader of this task has identified a set of

categories:

1. Public Administration: including innovation policy makers, regional development bodies, innovation

poles

2. Academic stakeholders

3. Private Stakeholders: SMEs, start-ups, web entrepreneurs

4. Media/ Editorial Groups

5. Start-Up Ecosystem Influencers: accelerators applications industry, investors, mentors, coaching &

venturing organizations.

This list was provided to all partners and is being updated and enlarged since the beginning of 2015. These

stakeholders identified by each partner have been contacted and informed about the project main activities, as

part of IMPACT’s strategy of dissemination.

Some of these stakeholders and partnerships had been introduced in the project platform to promote and

identify the IMPACT Cluster members, providing links and potential interactions and common interests with

IMPACT project. The network of IMPACT has been enriched in PODIO, project’s intranet and has been

divided in the mentioned categories, available to all partners.

Figure 1- Example of PODIO, IMPACT intranet

IMPACT D.5.2 IMPACT CLUSTER DIRECTORY

8

More than 600.000 stakeholders outside the FI-PPP project had been identified and informed about

IMPACT’s activities.

The communication and the awareness of IMPACT’s project is as important as the initiative itself in

order to guarantee success and sustainability of the project, the project has to ensure the knowledge of

the target audience about the project and its results.

IMPACT project has coordinated the dissemination activities to contribute to leverage the awareness about

FIWARE technologies at EU level by making a wide dissemination of IMPACT’s activities and services within

the project target groups.

IMPACT main objectives in terms of communication strategy are the following:

- To promote the project outcomes among target groups;

- To exploit partner’s network regarding the project activities (accelerators, entrepreneurs, SME

organizations, regional innovation offices, etc.).

- To contribute to the FIWARE deployment among ICT developers and web entrepreneurs;

- To keep FI-PPP projects updated with IMPACT’s main activities, seeking for cooperation and

synergies.

priority, the consortium has looked for the active involvement and use of the partners’ networks including

Mentors, Evaluators, Accelerators, Entrepreneurs support organizations, Regional authorities, ICT research

organizations and FI-PPP Projects. The following networks have been used to leverage the awareness of the

main project events:

Partner’s Distribution Lists: more than 56.000 direct contacts

Partner’s Networks: a total of 57 entities gathering more than 600.000 contacts

IMPACT & FIWARE Distribution List: 2.895 users
