1.2 Power Supply Connection

Insert the power adapter into the well-grounded socket and turn the power switch on.

Power adapter shall operate within input specification from 100V AC to 240V AC or

A remote control is attached when you purpose the LCD unit and you can use the remote control to

control LCD unit. For detailed button function, refer to Table 4.1 Button Description.

Basic Operation Chapter 5

5.1 Input Source

Steps:

1. Turn on the LCD unit when the power supply is on, after the input source is confirmed.

2. Press SOURCE button on the remote control to show the input source menu.

3. Press direction button to select the input source and press OK to finish the input source

selection.

DS-D5032FL and DS-D5042FL include 5 input signal sources: AV, HDMI, DVI, PC-RGB, and

USB.

5.2 Main Menu

5.2.1 Image Parameters

Picture Mode

Purpose:

You can adjust the picture parameters by switching image modes and adjusting the values of contrast,

brightness, color, sharpness and hue.

Steps:

1. Press Menu button to enter the main menu interface shown as below (set default as Picture

Mode).

2. Press OK button to enter the Picture Mode ◄Normal ► interface. (set default as Standard)

3. Press ◄ or ► to switch it between Dynamic, Soft and Custom Mode. It applies for adjusting

contrast, brightness, color and other parameters.

Contrast and brightness: Under Custom mode, press ◄ or ► to set the contrast

ranging from 0 to 100.

Color, sharpness and hue: Under Custom mode, press ◄ or ► to set the contrast ranging from 0 to 100.(Color, sharpness, hue are not adjustable when the input

source is analog)

Gray indicates that under current mode or current input source condition it is not adjustable; white indicates that it is adjustable.

4. Press Menu button to return to the main menu after finishing the adjustment.

Light Mode

Purpose:

You can select different light modes according to different conditions.

Steps:

1. Press Menu button to enter the main menu interface.

2. Select Light Mode and press OK key to enter the Light Mode ◄Normal► interface. (set

default as Normal)

3. Press ◄ or ► to switch it between Normal, Day 1 to 3 and Night 1 to 3.

Normal Mode: Under normal sunlight;

Day Mode: Under strong sunlight with Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3, three modes

available. Night Mode: Under low light, with Night 1, Night 2 and Night 3, three modes

available.

4. Press Menu button to return to the main menu after finishing the adjustment.

Sound Settings

Purpose:

You can switch the mute On/Off and adjust the sound value and balance.

Steps:

1. Press Menu button to enter the main menu interface.

2. Select Sound Setting and press OK button to enter the MUTE ◄Off► interface.

3. Press ◄ or ► to switch the mute On/Off.

4. Select Volume Value and press ◄ or ► to adjust the volume value.

5. Select Balance and press ◄ or ► to adjust the sound balance.

Volume Value: the volume ranges from 0 to100. Balance: the balance ranges from -50 to 50.

6. Press Menu button to return to the main menu after finishing the adjustment.

VGA Parameter

Purpose:

When the input source is selected as VGA, you can adjust the VGA parameters including H position,

V Position, clock and phase.

Steps:

1. Press Menu button to enter the main menu interface

2. Select VGA Parameter and press OK button to enter the VGA parameter setting interface.

(You can select Auto Adjust and press ◄ or ► to adjust the VGA parameters automatically or

adjust it manually)

3. Select H Position and press ◄ or ► to adjust the H Position

4. Select V Position and press ◄ or ► to adjust the V position.

5. Select Clock and press ◄ or ► to adjust the clock.

6. Select Phase and press ◄ or ► to adjust the phase.

The range of the adjustment ranges from 0 to100.

7. Press Menu button to return to the main menu after finishing the adjustment.

5.2.2 Overscan

Purpose:

When there is a black border, you can shield the border for the better image quality, and you can

adjust the overscan value via pressing up/down/left/right buttons.

Steps:

1. Press Overscan key to enter the Overscan ◄ On ► interface

2. Press ◄ or ► to switch the overscan On/Off.

3. Select the edge you want to shield.

4. Press ◄ or ► to adjust the value of the overscan on certain edge.

The value of overscan is the pixel value of certain edge.

The value ranges from 0 to 100.

5. Press Menu button to return to the main menu after finishing the adjustment.

5.2.3 System Information and Maintenance

Maintenance

Steps:

1. To update the software, insert the USB driver to the interface on the rear panel of the device.

2. Press Maintenance button to enter the Maintenance interface

3. Select the Update (USB) to update it.

4. To reset the parameters, select User Restore and reset the parameters of picture, sound and other

parameters to the default value.

Temperature Monitor

Purpose:

Enable the overheat alarm and once the board temperature is too high, an alarm prompt appears on the screen.

Steps:

1. Select Temp Monitor and press OK button to enter the Overheat Alarm ◄ On ► interface on

the right.

2. Press ◄ or ► to switch the Overheat Alarm On/Off.

3. When the Overheat Alarm is switched to◄ On ►, the overheat alarm function is enabled shown

as the Figure 5.4 Temperature Monitor.

4. Select Alarm Temp (°C) and press ◄ or ► to adjust the alarm temperature value.

5. Press MENU button to return to the main menu after finishing the adjustment.

Purpose:

You can set the OSD’s language, blending and duration on the menu.

Steps:

1. Press OSD Setting button to enter the OSD Setting interface.

2. Select OSD Language and press OK button to enter the 【OSD Language ◄English►】

interface, press ◄ or ► to switch the language between Chinese and English.

3. Select OSD Blending and press OK button to adjust the blending value with ◄ or ►:

High/Middle/Low/ Off.

4. Select OSD Duration and press OK button to adjust the OSD duration with ◄ or ►:

Always/5Sec/15Sec/30Sec.

5. Press Menu button to return to the main menu after finishing the adjustment.

Backlight Settings

Purpose:

You can set backlight, low energy, and energy diagram.

Steps:

1. Press◄ or ► to set the backlight, and adjust the value ranging from 0 to 100.

2. Press◄ or ►to turn on/off the low energy.

3. Press◄ or ►to turn on/off the energy diagram and set default as off. Turn on the energy

diagram to pop up the energy diagram interface shown as Figure 5.5 Energy Diagram.

Picture Freeze

Purpose:

Picture Freeze is to freeze the current picture on the LCD unit.

Steps:

1. Select Picture Freeze and press OK button to enter the Picture Freeze interface on the

right.

2. Press ◄ or ► to switch the Picture Freeze Yes/No.

3. Press MENU button to return to the main menu after finishing the setting.

When switching input source, the picture is automatically set as No.

5.3 USB Menu

Steps:

1. Press the SOURCE button on the remote control.

2. Select USB from Input Source menu to enter the menu shown as Figure 5.14 USB Menu.

3. Press◄ or ► to play photo, text, movie or music.

4. Enter the menu to select identified USB drive and press OK button to finish it.
