1. AbstractThe content of this deliverable may be divide into two different sections:
- the description of all the features of the BOMA system which consist of:o BOMA i-LiKe Platformit comprises six modules that allow to manage product, processes
and users (product, production, analysis, maintenance, attachments, users managementmodule)
o PDA portable device which is going to be used to track data and information from theproduction processes and upload them into the BOMA i-LiKe Platform
o Universal Marine Gateway (UMG) a smart device which has been already installed onseveral boat of the industrial partners (e.g. Hydrolift, Fiart Mare), used for gathering
sensors data from the boat and send them to the avatar of the boat in the BOMA i-LiKe
Platform.
- the procedures to configure and use properly the different systems and device of the BOMAsolution
This deliverable aims at providing the training material to the BOMA industrial partners to train their
personnel in the usage of the BOMA solution within and after the project since they will have a running
implementation of the BOMA solution specified for their own needs. Moreover, the same material can be
used for supporting dissemination and exploitation activities.

2. IntroductionThis chapter introduces the objectives and an overview on the reaming chapters.
2.1. Objective of this documentThe ultimate objective of this deliverable is to describe the functionalities and the interaction modes
useful for the users of the BOMA System. The responsible of the operations will interact directly with:
- the BOMA i-LiKe Platform (server side)- the PDAs
the Universal Marine Gateway
The deliverable illustrates how to interact correctly with them. The information provided with this
deliverable represent all the information required to properly configure and put in use the BOMA system.
2.2. OverviewThis deliverable has three main chapters. The description of all the features of the BOMA i-Like is
addressed in the first chapter.
The description of how to use the PDA into production and how the PDA web-based application
interacts with the BOMA i-LiKe Platform are described into details in the third chapter.
The last chapter deals with the description and the configuration of the Universal Marine Gateway.

1. Server ManualThe BOMA i-Like Platform is accessible via browser at the following link:
http://ServerName:8080/holonixThe ServerNameis the IP of the server that has been communicated to the BOMA industrial partner in
order to access to the BOMA i-Like Platform. Each SME has its own IP Server address.
The link reported above allows to access to the Log In page (Figure 1).

In order to access all the features of the BOMA Platform, users have to type their own Usern Nameand
Password(see Section 1.6).
Once selected the language and done the log in, according to the settings of every profile, the
personalized main page appears.

Seven areas compose the main menu:

Each of the above mentioned areas are going to be explained into details in the following sections.

1.1. Product ModuleWithin the Product menu it is possible to create and manage products. Three sub-menus appear:
- Product family- Product Type- Item-Product
1.1.1. Product familyClicking on Product family the following page appears, with the list of all the families that have been
created. It is possible to search families and filter them depending on the nature (raw material) or the
status (active/non active).

The information that must be inserted in order to create a family is:
- Code- Name- Start date- End Date-
Selection if it is a raw material or not- Active flag- Description: a description can be edited- Upload avatar: an image can be uploaded referred to the family
There are two other tabs that appear:
- Custom attributes: where it is possible to add an attribute to the family- Attachments: when modifying a family, it is allowed to upload file and links (Figure 5)

1.1.3. Item ProductClicking on Item Product the following page appears, with the list of all the items that have been
created. The items are the unique products within the company. It is possible to search an item and filter by
creation and delete date.

1.2. Production ModuleThe Production module (Figure 19) collects all the production sheets imported form the ERP system
used by each partner.

Clicking on Detail the following page appears (Figure 20). Here several general information are
reported:
- CodeID number of the production sheet- Start date- Activea check box that shows the status of the production sheet- Product Family of the output- Quantity- Export / Exported check boxes that indicates that the production sheet is ready to be
exported or has been already exported
- List of the processes

Bill of process InputClinking on the tab Bill of Process Input the bill of material of the process appears below (Figure 21).
Two different sections can be distinguished:
- The planned BoM which includes the set of items that should be used during the selectedprocess
- The effective BoM which is the list of the item effectively used during the selected processEach item in the list is characterized with the following information:
- Product family code- Product type code- Physical product code- WIPit identifies an input that is working in process (it can be only the hull)- From BoP output it indicates the name of the process whose output is exactly the item in
input to the selected process
- Quantityif the item is managed by quantity, otherwise the field is empty- Itemsif the item is managed by number, otherwise the field is empty

If a gap between planned and effective BoM happens, it is always indicated through a green (the
quantity/number of item planned is bigger than the quantity/number of item used) or red (the

Each r5esource in the list is characterized with the following information:
- Resourcename of the resource- Dateperiod of time during which the resource is used for the selected process- Hoursnumber of usage hours for each resource of the selected process

1.2.4. Bill of process OperatorClinking on the tab Bill of Process Operator the list of the operators involved in the process appears
below (Figure 24). Two different sections can be distinguished:
- The planned operators which are the operators that should be involved in the selected process- The effective operator that are the operators who effectively performed the selected process
Each operator in the list is characterized with the following information:
- Typeit indicates the role of the operator- Operator name of the operator- Masterit indicates that the operator is the crew chief- Dateperiod of time during which the operator works at the selected process- Hoursnumber of hours spent by each operator for the selected process
If a gap between planned and effective working hours happens, it is always indicated through a green
(the number of hours planned is bigger than the number of hours required) or red (the number of hours
planned is lower than the number of hours required) arrow in last raw of the table on the right side

The workers, when executing the processes, record through the use of the PDA, the effective input and
output, the resources used and the number of hours spent (see section 3 PDA MANUAL).

1.3. Analysis ModuleThe Analysis menu is useful to analyze data that are gathered by the Universal Marine Gateway. For
example data related to atmospheric pressure, external temperature, air humidity and rounds per minute
can be collected. Then this data can be analyzed setting the thresholds and the period of analysis, through
graphics, and CSV files.
When a Universal Marine Gateway is attached to a product, it is possible to see it in the Analysis Menu.Once a product is selected, the list of UMGs attached to it appears. See the example below.

It is possible to select a UMG and when clicking on the calculator the window below appears:

All the sensors attached to the UMG are listed in the view. Once selected a sensor, it is allowed to
choose minimum threshold and maximum threshold, the period of analysis and when clicking on Process
the second part of the window appear.
Under the column Actions it is possible to:
- Extract a graphic with the selected data and highlighted the min and max chosen- Download a CSV file with all the data gathered for further analysis- Download a CSV file with all the data gathered that are over the thresholds- Order the results- Cancel the results

1.4. Maintenance ModuleWithin the Activities Menu is possible to create/search/modify an activity performed on a product.
In the home page of the menu, the list of all the activities inserted is shown (Figure 27). It is possible to
search for an activity also by category. The main information stored are:
- Type, name, activity type- Status- Planned start and deadline- Start and end execution date- Operator- Description- Details (to modify an activity)

From the page above it is possible to add/modify an activity. The page below appears:

The following information must be inserted in order to create an activity:
- Name, activity category, activity type, status, operator and flag on planned if it is possible toplan it;
Other specific tabs appear, all the windows are reported below the description:
- Planning: possibility to plan the activity and insert a description;- Execution: possibility to insert the execution date, with the description of all the actions (Figure
29);

Resource Used: list of the resources used in the activity (Figure 30);- Product Used: it is possible to add a product that has been used (if stored in the database)(Figure 31);

1.6. Account Management ModuleIn the Account Management the system allows the management of users and roles, selecting the
permissions for each of them.
1.6.1. Roles ManagementBy clicking on Roles inside the menu, the Roles management screen reported below appears(Figure
37). Within this menu it is possible to modify and add permissions for each role.

By clicking on the plusbutton on the top side of the page, it is possible to add a new role.

In order to define a new role, the following fields have to be filled in:
- Name: new role- Parental role: it is possible to associate a role already existent as parental- Active: Yes - active role; No - deactivated role
It is possible to modify and deactivate the roles permissionsusing the Editbutton (Figure 39).
It is possible to assign permissions to each role (PDA and web application, in this case only web
application is usable).
It is needed to assign a name to the role, a parent role and select the active button.
- Web Application: it brings back all the functionalities of the web application. By selecting ordeselecting the functionalities, the related voice in the menu will be activated or deactivated (it
will still be visible but not usable).
- Active: Yes - active role, No - deactivated role.

1.6.2. Users ManagementBy clicking on User inside the menu, the Users management screen reported below appears (Figure
40). Within the window it is possible to create, modify and deactivate users.
All the users, both active and non-active are listed.

button.

The fields that have to be filled are the following:
- Username: fill in the username that will be used for server log in- Password: fill in or modify the users password. It is not allowed to create or modify the
password for the users that have same or superior role
- Name: compile the name of the person- Surname: compile the surname of the person- Active: Yes - active user, No not active user- Code: necessary field, fill in a unique code for each user- Phone: optional field- e-mail: optional field- Roles: select a role for the user. It is possible to assign more than one role for each user.
Important: Every user, depending on the role assigned, is able to create, modify, deactivate users that
have son. It is not allowed to create, modify or deactivate users that have same or superior role.

2. PDA ManualThe PDA supports the execution of the processes and allows to report the effective input and output of
each process, the resources used and the personnel involved.
The first step consists in the identification of the worker that uses the PDA (Figure 43). The user must
be previously registered in the account management module of the platform. The information required for
the login are username and password. After selecting the language and clicking on the button Access, the
main menu appears on the screen (Figure 44). Different actions can be done:
- Production- Internal logistic (not available)- Logistic in/out (not available)- Product identification

Clicking on the button Production, the production main menu appears on the screen (Figure 45). The
worker can now select between two possible options:
- Production Sheet- New Product
After clicking on the Production Sheet button, the worker needs to type in the field named code
the ID number of the required production sheet (Figure 46). If the ID is correct, clicking on the button
Open, the production sheet will be visualized on the screen (Figure 47).

In the Production sheet page the worker visualizes the following information:

- ID code of the production sheet- List of the processes
o Name of the processo Type of the process that can be:
Merging: it identifies a process that has many inputs (which can be uniquelyidentified) and only one output (which can be uniquely identified) ex.Moulding
Assembly: this process has in input a master uniquely identified and manyother parts and components, which will be assembled on the master. The parts
and components are not tracked anymore at the end of the process
Action: this process comprises a set of simple activities that may require ameasurement and must be flagged as done or not done ex. Test before the
launch
Change type: it is the process that allows to change the code to parts andcomponents

The color of each line of the list of processes in the production sheet has a specific meaning, related to
the status of the process (Figure 47):
- White: it identifies the activity that may be executed, those that are already executed or stillon-going (started but not ended)
- Grey: activity that cannot be executed since it requires mandatorily the execution of otheractivities before
Clicking on a white colored activity, several actions are possible (Figure 48):
- Execute: it allows the execution of the process.- Complete: when the execution of the process is completed, the process can be ended- Report Resources: it allows the selection of the resources used in the process and the
recording of the number of usage hours (this feature is still not available)
- Report Personnel: it allows the selection of the workers involved in the process and therecording of the working hours

2.1. Change TypeIt is the first process to be done. Once the worker clicks on the related line of the list of the production
sheet page (Figure 47), the page reported below appears on the screen (Figure 48). In the top side of the
page the following information are reported:
- Name of the process- Type of the process
The actions allowed are the following:
- Execute- Report personnel- Report resources (not available)- Complete (only after execution)
By clicking Execute, the worker will see the interface reported in Figure 49 and he will be able to tag
uniquely the hull that will be used in the following processes. At the top of the page the hull code is
reported. Then the worker, in order to complete correctly the process, should proceed as follow:
- Identify the hull. Three possible options are available1. Type the hull ID or the Batch ID or both in the field Product (Batch for the batch ID)2. Read the barcode attached on the hull (if available) using the barcode reader of the
PDA
3. Read the tag attached on the hull (if available) clicking on the button RFID- Click on the button Check Product- Click on the button RFIDin order to read the tag that is going to be assigned to the hull- Click on the button Confirm in order to finalize the association

2.2. AssemblyIf the worker clicks on an assembly process (Figure 47), the page reported below appears on the screen
(Figure 50). In the top side of the page are reported the following information:
- Name of the process- Type of the process
The actions allowed are the following:

- Complete (only after execution)By clicking Execute, the page reported in Figure 51 appears on the screen. It allows the worker to
select and define the master. It is the item on which will be assembled all the other items, parts and
components. In order to correctly define it, the worker must follow the procedure described below:

Identify the master. Three possible options are available:1. Type the muster item ID or the Batch ID or both in the field Product (Batch for the
batch ID)
2. Read the barcode attached on the master item (if available) using the barcode readerof the PDA
3. Read the tag attached on the master item (if available) clicking on the button RFID- Click the button Confirm in order to define the selected item as muster

Than the page reported in Figure 50 appears on the screen. At the top of the page the code of the
master just defined is reported. Below it, two buttons can be clicked:
- Show BoM(Figure 50)this table comprises all the item of the bill of material of the process.For each item the following information are reported:
o CodeID of the itemo Quantity (Qta)amount of the item required for the processo Unit of measurement (UdM)it can be of two different types:
Number of item if the input is managed by number Kilograms if the input if managed by quantity
o Statusit can takes the following values:
Ok if the input has been correctly inserted respecting the planned quantity + If the input inserted exceeds the planned quantity -If the input inserted is lower than the expected quantity
- Show Item(Figure 54)this table comprises all the item of the bill of material of the processalready inserted. For each item the information listed above are reported
The button Add item (Figure 52, 54) allows the worker to add an item. This means that the item
selected will be assemble to the master. In order to do correctly this operation, the worker must do the
following procedure:
- Identify the item to be added. The field Product or the field Batch or both must be filledout. Three possible options are available:
1. Type the item ID or the Batch ID or both in the field Product (Batch for the batchID)2. Read the barcode attached on the item (if available) using the barcode reader of thePDA

3. Read the tag attached on the item (if available) clicking on the button RFID- Click on Check product- Type the amount of the item in the field Quantity (Figure 53)- Click the button Confirm in order to end the addition of the item

Once all the items of the bill of material of the process are added, by click the button ok (Figure 52,
54) the assembly process will be completed.
2.3. ActionIf the worker clicks on an Action process (Figure 55), the page reported below appears on the screen
(Figure 56). In the page are reported the following information:
- Code of the product- Code of the product required- Code of the product inserted
In order to do correctly this operation, the worker must do the following procedure:
- Identify the item to be checked. The field Product or the field Batch or both must be filledout. Three possible options are available:
1. Type the item ID or the Batch ID or both in the field Product (Batch for the batchID)
2. Read the barcode attached on the item (if available) using the barcode reader of thePDA
3. Read the tag attached on the item (if available) clicking on the button RFID- Click on Check product- Verify that the Code required is the same of the code inserted- Click of the button Confirm tocomplete the process Action

When all the processes of the production sheet are performed (Figure 57), the production sheet is
completed and closed.

2.4. Report PersonnelClicking on the button Report Personnel that is visualized in the main menu of each process (Change
type, Assembly, Action) the page reported below appears on the screen (Figure 58). The first line of the
page reports how many hours the process is expected to require in order to be completed. The procedure
for recording the number of hours worked by each worker is the following:- Select the type of the operator- Select the operator- Insert the number of hours worked- Tick the box responsible is the worker is the crew chief- Click the button confirm to record the information inserted
If the procedure is done successfully than the information inserted will appear in the table at the
bottom of the page, otherwise the procedure must be repeated.
If the process involves only one worker that the procedure reported below must be done only one
time. Otherwise the process must be repeated for each worker who takes part into the process

2.5. Product IdentificationIt allows to retrieve all the information related to an item. After clicking on the button Product
Identification (Figure 59), the page reported below (Figure 60) appears on the screen. By typing the
product ID in the field Item Code or reading the barcode through the PDA, the following information will
appear on the screen:
- Family of the product- Package number- Batch number- Date of the creation- Data of expiration- Quantity- Last position in the warehouse (if available)- Status

2.6. New ProductClicking on the button Production (Figure 44), the production main menu appears on the screen
(Figure 61). The worker can now select between two possible options:- Production Sheet- New Product

Clicking on the button New Product (Figure 61), the page reported below (Figure 62) appears on the
screen. This feature allows to create a new product item uniquely identified in the BOM platform when it is
not manufactured. The procedure for creating a new product item is the following:
- Identify the product. Two possible options are available:o Type the item ID or the Batch ID or both in the field Product (Batch for the batch
ID)o Read the barcode attached on the item (if available) using the barcode reader of the
PDA
- Select the reason among the possible choices- Assign a new tag to the selected product. Two possible option are available:
o Type the ID of the tag in the field below the table named Tag (Figure 62)o Read the tag (if available) clicking on the button RFID
- Click on the button cancel (Canc) to stop the addition- Type the amount of the product in the field:
o Number of item if the item is managed by numberor in the field
oQuantity if the item is managed by quantity- Click the button Confirm in order to end the addition of the product

3. UMG ManualFigure 63 gives an overview of the UMG hardware.

The NMEA2000 Gateway Connector (left USB port) is used to connect the Actisense NGT-1-USB
gateway, which is supplied with the UMG. The SERVICE Connector (right USB port) is used to connect the
UMG to a service computer for setup and maintenance.
The 12V Power Connector is used to connect to the power source, which is used to power the UMG. It
must receive 12V DC. Use only the connector cable supplied with the UMG. With other plugs water
tightness can be compromised. The connector must be wired according to positive polarity as depicted in
Figure 64.

The Power Button can be used to reset/restart the UMG without disconnecting the power supply.
Pressing it once shortly will cause the UMG to end processes but wont shut it down. To shut down the
UMG press and hold the power button for at least 8 seconds, until the status LEDs turn off. If you keep
holding the power button for two more seconds after the LEDs turned off, the UMG will restart (The LEDs
will take a couple more seconds to switch on).
Once power is supplied to the UMG it starts up and after a few seconds the Power Status LED will be on
continuously.
The Sensor and i-Like Uplink Status LEDs will flash continuously once the respective programs havestarted on the UMG.

3.1. Service InterfaceBesides the wireless network the UMG has a service interface for maintenance as indicated in section 3.
The service USB port can be connected directly to a computer using the cable supplied with the UMG. On
the first connection of a computer with the UMG the necessary drivers will be automatically installed.
3.2. UMG ConfigurationThe UMG has a web-based configuration tool, the UMG Configurator. It can be reached from
computers or mobile devices connected to the same network as the UMG. The recommended way is to use
the local service network (see section 3.1). Using this network connection, the UMG Configurator can be
accessed at the following address:
http://192.168.7.2/Besides the local service network it can also be reached on wireless or wired networks using the IP
address of the UMG. The UMG Configurator is always on port :80.
The UMG Configurator is a single web page with multiple sections, which are described in the following
subsections.
3.2.1. General UMG ConfigurationIn the first section (see Figure 65) the general settings can be made. These settings, especially the ones
regarding the identification, must be identical to those made in the i-LiKe Platform.
The Boat Tag uniquely identifies the boat, while the UMG Code uniquely identifies the UMG, which
(in i-LiKe Platform) is registered to the Boat Tag. The UMG Description can further describe the UMG.
The iLike URI is the address of the i-LiKe Platform installation including the path on the server. It must
always end with a /. The iLike Username and iLike Password are the credentials used to log onto the
BOMA Platform installation. This user must have access to the API.
As last point in this area, the data transmission interval can be set. This determines how often the UMGwill begin transmitting new data sets to i-LiKe.

In the section WiFI Accesspoint the settings for the local Wi-Fi network can be made. The WiFi SSID
is the name of the network.

3.2.2. UMG Sensor ConfigurationIn this section the details for all the sensors, which are attached directly to the UMG or built in can be
set.

The UMG comes with these sensors preconfigured, so only few changes should be necessary. The
different possible settings are the Description, Measurand, Unit of Measure (UoM) and the Log
interval of the sensor. All but the log interval are solely for identification and description purposes in iLike.
The Log interval determines how often (measured in seconds) the UMG will store data from t he
respective sensor into the database.
3.2.3. NMEA 2000 ConfigurationThis section has the same possible settings as the one for the built-in sensors for the data sources
attached to the UMG via the NMEA2000 Gateway. For further info see section 3.2.1.

The Actisense NGT-1-USB Gateway does not need to be configured separately for the use with the
UMG.
3.2.4. Administrative ToolsAs Figure 69 shows the last section offers some administrative tools. Register UMG will send a
request to i-LiKe to register this UMG with the details specified above (see section 3.2. 1). Register Sensor
will ask for a sensor id and the send a request to i-LiKe to register this sensor to this UMG. Register ALL
Sensors will perform Register Sensors for all sensors, which have been configured.
Shutdown UMG will stop all processes and shut down the UMG hardware. Restart UMG Hardwarewill do the same as Shutdown UMG but the reboot the UMG, while Restart UMG Server and Scripts will
only restart the software and not the hardware.
