Technically state-of-the-art:LEWA supplies the world’s biggest process diaphragm pumps.

LEWA ecoflow process diaphragm pumpsfor high pressure process engineering

LEWA process diaphragm pumps for high pressure process engineer-ing are the standard for tightness in the high pressure range. Here LEWA has set the standards and consistently further develops the diaphragm pump technology.

With LEWA process diaphragm pumps even critical, toxic or inflam-mable fluids can be conveyed safely. Also extremely low viscosity, non- lubricating fluids or abrasive sus-pensions are handled without any problems. The pressure range goes up to 1200 bar.

Advantages of LEWA process diaphragm pumps at a glance:

Hermetically tight, zero leakage Metal- or PTFE sandwich diaphragms with diaphragm monitoring system

Compact monoblock or variable segment design

Dry run and overload safe Rugged and low maintenance requirements

Precise conveying even at pressure fluctuations due to pressure firm characteristic

High efficiency High availability Low maintenance Low life cycle costs

For tightness and safety: LEWA diaphragm pump heads

Basic functions, using the series M 900 as example. The construc-tion principle ensures that the dia-phragm of the pump head always works in the optimum operating range. This explains the extremely high operating safety. Advantage through the patentedDPS (diaphragm protection system)Diaphragm pumps are used when zero leakage and operational safety are required, particularly in the case of fluids that are hazardous, abrasive, polluting or sensitive. In order to keep the load on the diaphragm as low as possible, the diaphragm in LEWA ecoflow is actuated hydraulically. Together with the DPS (diaphragm protection system), a long diaphragm service life is ensured.

Low-wear valves for the widest rangeOperational safety and the risk of break-downs are crucially dependent on the quality of the valves. The valve design is, therefore, tailored to the re-spective application. Benefit from our decades of experience in this field.

Diaphragm monitoring system: for reliable condition indicationIf a diaphragm is damaged, this will be immediately indicated by the standard diaphragm monitoring sys-tem. Nevertheless, the pump can continue to be operated so that the production process can be finished without risk. Signalling takes place using a pressure switch, pressure gauge or contact pressure gauge.

Pressure limiting valveA pressure limiting valve prevents possible pump overload situations. With LEWA triplex and ecoflow, these can be set individually.

Minimum dead space: short dwell timeThrough geometrical optimization of the pump head, the volume of proc-ess fluid in the wetted area can be kept to a minimum. The flow path is shaped so that flushing, draining and drying processes can be carried out easily.

Simple and safe start-upThe diaphragm protection system guarantees problem-free start-up even under unfavourable conditions.

Separation of hydraulic fluid and drive unit lubricantsIt is basically impossible to conta minate the drive unit with the fluid conveyed.

Leakage replenishmentAny internal leakage in the hydraulic circuit of the pump head is balanced by a replenishing valve.

The right material for every fluidStainless steel 1.4571 is used as our standard material. Other material options such as 2.4610 or titanium are also possible.

For all types of fluids:Safe M 900 diaphragm pump heads

With its diaphragm protectionsystem, the series M900 is a uni-versal and particularly fail-safe solution. Be it for simple or critical, polluting, hazardous, sensitive, highly viscous or abrasive fluids.

The DPS (diaphragm protection sys-tem) ensures that the diaphragm always moves in the optimum operat-ing range. Even external influences or extreme operating conditions will not affect it. This is what makes the series M900 extremely safe and par-ticularly economical. The extremely long diaphragm service life is a crucial factor in decreasing life cycle costs. Added to this are the benefits of the diaphragm monitoring system, which signals if one of the diaphragms is damaged. Nevertheless, the dia-phragm pump can continue to be operated for a certain time, which provides a high level of fail-safety and thus greater availability.

Advantages of the series M900

Hermetically sealed, leak-free High metering accuracy and a wide adjusting range

Integrated pressure limiting valve Diaphragm monitoring system Very long diaphragm service life, easy to replace

Simple and safe start-up, even under extreme conditions

Safe against operating errors Unsurpassed suction capability, comparable to a plunger pump

Special materials

Advantages of the M 800 series

Maximum pressure 1000 bar Temperature range -20 °C to +80 °C

Hermetically tight system High process safety due to diaphragm monitoring system

Low life cycle costs due to wear-free plunger seals and long diaphragm service life

Suitable also for difficult fluids e. g. suspensions with hard parti-cles or fluids with high viscosity

High suction ability due to dia phragm position control

Safe against high suction pressure due to full rear dia-phragm support

Safe against overload of the pump by integrated pressure limiting valve in the hydraulic part

The high pressure diaphragm pump heads of the M800 series represent an extension of the proven M500 series with a dis-charge pressure up to 1000 bar. Due to an integrated diaphragm moni-toring system in combination with a PTFE sandwich diaphragm high process safety is assured. With this series the use of zero-leakage dia-phragm pumps, exceeding the present pressure limits of plastic diaphragms, is considerably more economical than using metal dia-phragm pump heads.

The high pressure pump series with metal diaphragm for high pressures and high temperatures.

Diaphragm pumps with metal dia-phragm are used when high pres-sures or high temperatures must be handled or when absolute diffu-sion resistance is required. This series offers extremely high safety standards by limiting the diaphragm deflection in both directions so that diaphragm overload by faulty oper-ation is safely prevented. A big safety plus is offered by the sand-wich diaphragm at pressures up to 1200 bar.

Advantages of the M400 series

Very high safety standard Protected against diaphragm overload and faulty operation

Suction pressure proof up to full operating pressure at rest

Diaphragm absolutely diffusion tight Long diaphragm service life by even deflection via support plate on hydraulic side and protection against excessive diaphragm deflection
