• Small Business “Social Network” w/ Stock LevelsEasy platform using existing infrastructure for businesses to advertise and provide services to local and international customers, potentially boosting business Australia-wide.

• National University RepositoryUtilizing Google’s search framework, this idea would allow students to access Lectures, Library Catalogues, Journals etc, from all universities in Australia.

• National real-time Traffic Monitoring System A tool that advises of road/public transport congestion using existing infrastructure, but provided as a national service.

Ideas Summary

• Targeted at farmers, scientists and surveyors

• Automated aircraft to run regular surveys of land or fields

• Uses: Crop-dusters, livestock monitoring & geographic surveying.

Civilian UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)

• May be too complicated and costly for the general public to implement.

• Costs may outweigh the benefits.

• Benefits may not be understood.

• May take an extended amount of time to implement and realize benefits.

• May compromise existing industries that use full sized aircraft.

Risks

• Could be cheaper if implemented on a large scale.

• No onboard pilot and smaller aircraft increases safety.

• Useful in rural communities due to convenience.

• Encouraging the use of the NBN as live data and tracking information will travel through the wireless/satellite network.

• Can provide platform for further development based on the success or failure of the idea.
