Grandma’s Feather Bed Page 1 of 1 Grandma’s Feather Bed (Jim Connor)
G C When I was a little bitty boy, G D7 just up off-a the floor G C We used to go down to Grandma's house, G D7 G every month end or so C We had chicken pie and country ham G D7 and homemade butter on the bread G C But the best darn thing about Grandma's house D7 G was her great big feather bed
CHORUS: G It was nine feet high and six feet wide, C G soft as a downy chick
It was made from the feathers of forty 'leven geese A7 D7Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick G It'd hold eight kids, four hound dogs C G and a piggy we stole from the shed C We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
D7 G On Grandma's feather bed
G C After the supper we'd sit around the fire, G D7 the old folks'd spit and chew G C Pa would talk about the farm and the war G D7 G and Granny'd sing a ballad or two C I'd sit and listen and watch the fire G D7 ‘til the cobwebs filled my head G C Next thing I’d know I'd wake up in the morning D7 G in the middle of the old feather bed
CHORUS
G C Well I love my Ma, an' I love my Pa, G D7love Granny and Grandpa too G C I been fishing with my uncle, I wrestled with my cousin, G D7 G
I even kissed Aunt Lou (eeeew!) C But if ever had to make a choice, G D7
I guess it ought to be said G C That I'd trade ‘em all plus the gal down the road,
D7 Gfor Grandma's feather bed
CI'd trade ‘em all plus the gal down the road…..

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL w. Katharine Lee Bates 4/4 1…2…123 m. Samuel Augustus Ward
(Practice triplets)
Oh, beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain.
For purple mountain majesties, above the fruited plain.
America!..... A-mer-i-ca! God shed His grace on thee.
And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea.
Oh, beautiful for patriot dreams, that sees beyond the years.
Thine alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears.
America!...... A-meri-ca! God shed His grace on thee.
And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea.
And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea.

In the summertime when the weather's high,
you can stretch right up and touch the sky,
Bb
when the weather's fine,
F
you got women, you got women on your mind.
C
Have a drink, have a drive,
Bb F
go out and see what you can find.
F
If her daddy's rich, take her out for a meal.
If her daddy's poor, just do as you feel.
Bb
Speed along the lane,
F
Do a ton, or a ton and twenty-five.
C Bb
When the sun goes down, you can make it,
F
make it good in a lay-by.
F
We're not grey people, we're not dirty, we're not mean.
We love everybody, but we do as we think.
Bb
When the weather's fine
F
we go fishing or go swimming in the sea.
C
We're always happy,
Bb F
life's for living, yeah, that's our philosophy.
F
Sing along with us, dee-dee-dee-dee-dee.

When the winter's here, then it's party time.
Bring a bottle, wear your bright clothes.
Bb
It'll soon be summertime, and we'll sing again,

we'll go drivin' or maybe we'll settle down.

UNDER THE BOARDWALK 4/4 1…2…123
Oh, when the sun beats down and burns the tar upon the roof
And your shoes get so hot you wish your tired feet were fire-proof
Under the boardwalk, down by the sea…yeah
On a blanket with my baby, that’s where I’ll be
UT-BW, out of the sun, UT-BW, we’ll be havin’ some fun, UT-BW people walkin’ above
UT-BW, we’ll be fallin’ in love, under the boardwalk, boardwalk
From the park you hear the happy sound of a carou-sel
You can almost taste the hot dogs and french fries they sell
Under the boardwalk, down by the sea…yeah
On a blanket with my baby, that’s where I’ll be

Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days Of Summer
Charles Tobia and Hans Carste, Nat King Cole
[G] Roll [Gdim] out [D7] those [G] lazy, hazy, crazy days of [A7] summer, those days of [D7] soda and pretzels and [G] beer Roll [G] out [D7] those[G] lazy, hazy, crazy days of [A7] summer, dust off the [D7] sun and moon and sing a song of [G] cheer
Just fill your [B7] basket full of sandwiches and weenies then lock the house up now you’re [Em] set And on the [A7] beach you’ll see the [Em7] girls in their bi[A7]kinis, as cute as ever but they never get them [D7] wet
Roll [Gdim] out [D7] those [G] lazy, hazy, crazy days of [A7] summer, those days of [D7] soda and pretzels and [G] beer Roll [G] out [D7] those[G] lazy, hazy, crazy days of [A7] summer, you’ll wish that [D7] summer could always be [G] here
Don’t have to [B7] tell a girl and feller ‘bout a drive-in or some romantic movie [Em] scene Why from the [A7] moment that those [Em7] lovers start a[A7]rrivin’ You’ll see more kissing in the cars than on the [D7] screen
Roll [Gdim] out [D7] those [G] lazy, hazy, crazy days of [A7] summer, those days of [D7] soda and pretzels and [G] beer Roll [G] out [D7] those[G] lazy, hazy, crazy days of [A7] summer, you’ll wish that [D7] summer could always be [G] here
And there’s the [B7] good old fashioned picnic, and they still go, always will go any [Em] time And there will [A7] always be a [Em7] moment that can [A7] thrill so, as when the old quartet sings out “Sweet Ade[D7]line”
Roll [Gdim] out [D7] those [G] lazy, hazy, crazy days of [A7] summer, those days of [D7] soda and pretzels and [G] beer Roll [G] out [D7] those[G] lazy, hazy, crazy days of [A7] summer, you’ll wish that [D7] summer could always be [G] here
you’ll wish that [D7] summer could always be [G] here you’ll wish that [D7] summer could always be [G] here

Summer Wind
Frank Sinatra
Intro: [D] [D6] [Dma]7 [D6]
The [D] summer wind [D6] came [Dmaj7] blowin‘ in [D6] From a[Em7]cross the [A7] sea [Em7] [A7] It [Em7] lingered [A7] there, so [Em7] warm and [A7] fair To [D] walk with me [D6] All [Am7] summer [D7] long, we [Am7] sang a [D7] song And [Gmaj7] strolled on golden [Gm6] sand [D6] Two [B7] sweethearts [Em7] and [A7], the [D] summer wind [A7]
Like [D] painted [D6] kites, those [Dmaj7] days and [D6] nights Went [Em7] flyin‘[A7] by [Em7] [A7] The [Em7] world was [A7] new, Be[Em7]neath a [A7] blue um[D]brella sky [D6] Then [Am7] softer [D7] than, a [Am7] piper [D7] man one [Gmaj7] day, It called to [Gm6] you [D6] And I [B7] lost you [Em7] to [A7] The [D] summer wind [A7]
The [D] autumn [D] wind and the [Dmaj7] winter [D6] wind Have[Em7] come and [A7] gone [Em7] [A7] And [Em7] still the [A7] days, those [Em7] lonely [A7] days Go [D] on and on [6D] And [Am7] guess who [D7] sighs, his [Am7] lulla[D7]bies Through [Gmaj7] nights that never [Gm6] end [D6] My [B7] fickle [Em7] friend, [A7] The [D] summer wind ….. [A7] The [D] summer wind ….. [A7] The [D] summer wind [D6]
