Pardubice is situated on the bank of the second longest river in the Czech Republic, the Labe River, where there is a mouth of another river called Chrudimka.

Ice hockey team won the gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olimpics and has won six gold medals at the World Championships . Other sports play in Czech Republic are tennis, basketball, volley ball, floorball and handball.
