HISTORYAfter defeat Austria-Hungary in first world war Czech republic became independent at 28th October 1918 and was Czechoslovak Republic and at 31 th December was independent Czech Republic .

Rivers

The longest rivers are the Vltava, the Elbe and the Moravia. Vltava is central in city Prague. Bohemia and Moravia are rich in mineral springs and spas - Karlovy Vary, Marienbad , Franzensbad, Poděbrady, Luhačovice, Jeseník, etc.

The highest mountain is Sněžka in Giant mountains, which is 1 603 meters high. Sněžka is a mountain on the border between the Czech Republic and Poland.
