CYPRUS
THE COUNTRY
Cyprus is an island country in the Eastern Mediterranean, located southeast of Greece. It is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Its economy is dominated by the tourism sector. Cyprus is an EU member state since 2004 and adopted euro as its unit currency in 2008. Larnaka is located on the southern coast of Cyprus and is the third largest city of the island, after Nicosia (Cyprus’ capital) and Limassol. Many of Cyprus’ most important landmarks can be found in Larnaka and its wider region.
