Centurions vs Aztecs

Come out and support Cypress Football in their CIF game against the Palm Desert

Aztecs. The game will be at Handel Stadium at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 17,

2017. Tickets will be sold at the activities office on campus on Friday 11/17 during

lunch and after school. The cost of the CIF Football tickets are $10.00 for adults and

$5.00 for children and students.

Sophomore Parent PLUS Night

Did you miss the Sophomore Parent PLUS Night

or simply want a copy of the presentation? You

can now download the presentation from the

Cypress High School website by clicking the

Counseling tab on the left hand side of the Home

Page and selecting Sophomore Information. This

presentation covers postsecondary choices for

education, A-G Requirements, applying to

college, testing requirements, and financial aid

and scholarship information. You will also find a

document with some tips on what you can do to

communicate with your student during their

teenage years.

Order Your School Photos Did you forget to order your son’s or daughter’s school photos this year, or would you like to order

more? It’s not too late, this year their photos are available for viewing & ordering online. Send out

photos for the holidays to show your relatives how your child has grown!

Orders received by December 10th will be shipped by December 15th

Just follow these simple steps:

2. Click on K-11 Fall School Pictures

3. Under private gallery search type in your student's ID number

4. Type in a parent email if requested

5. Select your picture package

Arabic Parent Learning Walk Our next scheduled Parent Learning Walk is on Thursday, December 7th for our Arabic speaking

families. Learn how you can help your student at home by visiting classrooms to better understand

the skills, tasks, and expectations students must meet and demonstrate. See firsthand what

students are asked to do and engage in collegial discussion about how you can best help your

student at home to meet these expectations. Stay tuned next semester for information on Parent

Learning Walks being held in English, Vietnamese and Korean.

Eligibility Requirements

Outstanding Teen Miss

US Citizen

Female between 13 and 17 years old

Never married or pregnant

Live in Anaheim or in the Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD) attendance area.

US Citizen

Female between 17 (graduating senior) and 24 years old

Never married or a parent of a child

Live, work, or go to school in Anaheim or the AUHSD attendance area OR attend Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) OR

Areas of Competition

Talent 35%, Interview 25%, Evening Wear 25%, Physical Fitness 15% (workout attire)

Applications are now being accepted for young women who would like to compete for the chance to represent the

Anaheim community at the Miss California 2018 competition. This competition is a local/structured pageant open to

young women ages 13 – 24 who live in Anaheim or in the boundaries of the Anaheim Union High School District, attend

school in Anaheim, or attend school full-time at CSU Fullerton or Fullerton College. Four titles will be awarded: Miss

Anaheim, Miss Anaheim Hills, Miss Anaheim’s Outstanding Teen, and Miss Anaheim Hills’ Outstanding Teen. Join us

and earn your share of roughly $10,000 in scholarship and prize monies, including a $2,000 scholarship each to Miss

Anaheim 2017 and Miss Anaheim Hills 2017. ALL contestants competing will be awarded a scholarship! (Minimum: Miss

$200 / Teen $100).

NO ENTRY FEE! Scholarship funds are raised by the Miss Anaheim Committee and contestants through

sponsors, ad pages, fundraisers, and ticket sales. Miss Anaheim is a public charity with a 100% volunteer staff and want

to assist you in accomplishing your goals. Rehearsals and workshops are free and will help you improve your self-

confidence and develop life skills. You will receive coaching in interview techniques, application/resume writing, poise

and grooming, etiquette, civic awareness, time management, goal setting, and public speaking. Through participation in

the program, you will be inspired when you meet other ambitious young women who want to do their very best in life.

What do you need to do now?

Fill out an online application ASAP and submit it in no later than Sunday, November 26, 2017. Apply online at: http://

Participate in an Orientation (one required): Either Sun., Nov. 19th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM (location to be announced once

your application is submitted) or via web meeting via appointment. If you are a minor, you will need to have a parent or

guardian attend the orientation with you. During our orientation, we will talk about the Miss Anaheim Scholarship

program and our affiliation with the Miss America Organization. You will learn what it takes to compete in our program,

and we will answer any questions you may have. Some of the young women who have benefitted from this awesome

program will also be there to welcome you.

Student Bulletin *Swim Team Try Outs are coming! Do you like the water? Do you like to race? Do you have an

uncontrollable desire to work out to the point of exhaustion? Well, then you should try out for the

swim team on December 1st after school on the pool deck. The try out consists of 5 timed events:

the 50 yard butterfly, the 50 yard backstroke, the 50 yard breaststroke, the 100 yard freestyle and

the 100 yard Individual Medley. You must have an athletics clearance card from our Athletic

Directors in order to try out. So get yourself cleared for athletics NOW! Again, if you are not

cleared you cannot try out. Try out date is Friday December 1st @ 2:40pm and will end

approximately at 5:00pm.
