Hi Guys

A shortened newsletter tonight as I am well short of free time this week. Another excellent round withfine performances from all teams. I managed to get to see some of our U11 team perform bravely intheir tenacious !1 victory over "outh Hobart as well as our U# boys who with some more luck in front ofgoals would have snatched victory. $he game of the day that I saw was the U% &hite team whosomehow continued to defend stoutly while 'ingborough dominated field position only to deny themtime and time again and take out the win !1. &ell done guys.

4ur first home game on "unday afternoon was a tense affair. 5ygnet altered theirformation for the start of the game with our local 67+ chef leading the attacking linewith / in midfield. &hile we had numbers in midfield8 the 9arnestoneworth "crappersshowed they had some real :uality and played some solid footy. It would be fair to saythat we had the better first 1/8 but the "crappers did what their name suggests andscrapped away until they took the lead 1!) into half!time.

(ost the rum break 0 eds note: isnt that oranges break??) we ad;usted our formation a little whichhelped see us regain some possession through the midfield. $he ball was more difficult to control withthe field getting wetter as winter moves on8 but after numerous :uestionable attacks on our own 9uckland8 finally a tackle brought a penalty in the box for us. As mentioned numeroustimes before8 our mar:uee signing +ee ?epson from +iverpool8 @ngland and cousin to famous $7personality 'arl (ilkington8 stepped up for the penalty8 &ith / minutes to go and this needed to drawlevel at 1!18 there was an eerie silence that feel upon the 5ygnet A + ground. 9ang. +ee fired a bulletstraight to the keeper who saved the shot but could not handle the power and the rebound fell backto +ee who slotted the ball into the net. $he final / minutes saw us attacking wave after wave and thewoodwork was it with 1 minute to go but a draw it finished. A fair result for an entertaining game."pecial mention to @ran Howard 0U% &hite coach3 who played his best game of the season at 6ight

and +eft back holding out some fast young guys.or a first season team8 wins8 draws and , losses is an ama ing on field result.

$his mornings "ea -ragons under % Greens played against 'ingborough 9lack. 9oth teamscame out confident and ready for the game. 6ory ;ust missed out our first goal of the daywith his beautiful pass. 9enny proved his skills in defense keeping his eye on the ball andstaying on it. 4li kept with the ball showing fantastic wedding of the ball to clear it out ofgoal. $ommy showing great team play chipping across putting the ball in our favor. Huon sbeautiful wide attempt for goal and his great effort as goalie in the nd half. 9illy putting up alovely block for the side8 working with the team. Hugo stayed on attack playing a greatgame. 5harlie was goalie for 1st half8 showed a great eye to ball connection and great workon field nd half8 our newest player. $here s always a winner unfortunately it wasn t our week.'ingbourgh blacks came in strong and finished strong scoring / goals to "ea -ragons ).Great ;ob guys8 well done

$oday was an exemplary effort D with a marked increase in the intensity in both attack butmore importantly in defence D something that was missing in the past.

$he "ea -ragons were camped in the opposition half for the entirety of the 1 st half D the onlyforay by the lash was when they scored a run away goal8 on the counter attack and againstthe run of play.

&e came into the orange break8 and despite being a goal down8 we were clearly thesuperior team.

$he nd half was a bit more even however we still dominated possession with over a half ado en corners on our side of the ledger with numerous near misses.

$he e:uali er was a gem D and something the commentators at the &orld 5up would raveabout if they saw ?oshua NchippingM the goal keeper to score. $his is something you rarely seeat this age level.

In $obyMs absence8 special mention should be made to our two stand in goalkeepers whopulled off some brave saves at the feet of the opposing players D well done "asha andespecially to Aimee who donned the gloves for the very first time.

$he sun came out before the match warm!up started and the team must have reallyabsorbed some extra vitamin - as they came onto the field and played the best game ofthe season. 5obi in goals in the first half and 5odi in the second. 9oth of these boys also didan exceptionally good ;ob as the only midfield in their opposing halves8 really grabbing theball in the defensive half and sweeping it through to the attackers. 6iley was on fire with hisfoot making contact with the ball midair on many occasions and Led ran his heart out inattack in the first and defence in the second and was unlucky not to be rewarded with agoal for his efforts. +eyroy was excellent across the field making loads of opportunities. "ashashowed again that he is really persistent and goes for the ball time and time again. 4scarwas great in attack and was also unlucky to not score. -en el scored the only goal for thematch which was set up beautifully for him by the attacking team with a great follow throughto get it into the net. 6ory and @lliot worked really well with -emi and +eyroy in really holdingthe defensive line in the first half which I think really dampened the spirits of &aimea Heightswho possible came into the game as favourites having played division 1 last year and havinga number of physically bigger boys on their team. $here were so many ama ing moments inthis game8 too many to list8 against a strong and consistent team. $he team worked so hardfor this win and they really deserved it. $he "ea -ragon anthem was sung with gusto8 and alot of the water bottles went home empty8 showing ;ust how much effort everyone put in tocontribute to this victory.

$he All "tars travelled to the -omain Athletic centre this last saturday and took to the fieldagainst "acred Heart.

&ith at least 1/ or 1* players it was a big ;ob for the parents who were doing the subbing. $hebig surpri e was that the team seemed to settle onto the full si ed field a lot :uicker thanusual and faster than "acred Heart and they scored their first goal in this compitition thanks toat least five players passing the ball with speed and accuratecy and we found the back of

the net via -anielle.

Lot sure if it was the excitement or not but we then sort of collapsed and conceded fourgoals before half time. $here was not much obvious fouling during the first half but the secondhalf with their own coach as ref was a bit wild and rough but our girls were up to the task andafter some magic play from the back then through mid!field the ball floated across the goalfor 9obbin to slip it home from the middle of a scrambling bunch of defenders for our secondgoal of the season. "acred Heart had another goal ;ust before this and got another after tohave a *! score line which was not a good indication if the play or the game as a whole.
