Cydcor partnered once again with Operation Smile to fund a medical mission

in Bolivia!

In June 2015, Cydcor raised more than $150,000 during a “Day of Smiles” fundraiser.

As a result of the money raised, Cydcor was able to fund two medical missions! One in Bolivia this past March and another one (location is yet to be determined) in Spring 2016.

Before the mission:

Rolling up our sleeves to help!

In early March 2016, Cydcor made the journey to Bolivia to volunteer with Operation Smile on a medical mission.

This is the fourth medical mission that Cydcor has funded and participated in.

In 2012 Cydcor traveled to Brazil and in 2014 the team assisted with medical missions in Mexico and Guatemala!

The screening days:

The mission began with two screening days.

Approximately 250 screenings took place to make sure surgery candidates were healthy enough for the procedures. People came from near and far - some traveling as long as 28 hours by bus and 7 hours on foot!

These medical mission assist children such as Eileen, a 7-month-old little girl who traveled with her mom for 10 hours for a chance to get a surgery.

Cydcor volunteers not only assisted with the screening process, they also spent time playing with the children being screened, and provided emotional support to family members.

The team’s contributions were emotionally demanding – but a very rewarding experience overall.

The next day, surgeries began. Our volunteers got to experience first hand the surgery process.

It can take as little as 45 minutes to change the life of a child in need!

A total of 138 surgeries were successfully performed during the medical mission.

Another successful medical mission!

Cydcor is proud of its partnership with Operation Smile and the success of the Adopt a Smile fundraising campaign.

The donations raised through this campaign made it possible for many children in need to have access to medical care.
