Dear Cycling Friends,

We are pleased to introduce you to 2020 BALTIC BIKE TRAVEL catalogue presenting a wide range of cycle trips in the Baltics (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) and neighbouring countries (Poland, Belarus, Russia, Finland).

BALTIC BIKE TRAVEL is the only incoming tour operator in Lithuania specialising in cycling holidays. We have been experts on cycling in the Baltics already for more than 10 years.

In this catalogue, we present our top products - GUIDED GROUP CYCLE TOURS and SELF-GUIDED SUPPORTED (HALF-GUIDED) CYCLE TOURS. All these tours are offered on fixed departure dates which are guaranteed from 2 or 6 participants and trips are never cancelled at a short notice like many other tour operators do; therefore after reserving the tour you can book your flights as early as possible in order to get the best deal available! All supported self-guided trips include guided sightseeing walking tours in the main historical cities, luggage transportation and a few long transfers by minibus!

You are welcome to join our group tours where cyclists from different countries travel together (max. 19 or 25 people per group). These groups are escorted by experienced local tour guides who speak the English and German languages. If you like easy travelling in a small group (up to 15 people) and staying in more luxury hotels (4*), go for the 11-day guided E-bike tour of the Baltics (p.8)!

Travel routes of all transnational long-distance tours cover three to four countries (pp. 6–9 & 11–15) and combine sightseeing in historical cities – Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn, Warsaw, Gdansk, Kaliningrad, New! St.Petersburg – and exploring nature wonders like the Curonian Spit sand dunes in Lithuania, deep valleys of the Gauja River in Latvia, impressive Saaremaa Island in Estonia, Wigry and Biebrza National Parks in Poland, Augustow Canal in mysterious Grodno region – visa free zone in Belarus, etc. The newest tours include St. Petersburg with Leningrad Region and the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, formerly German Königsberg; since 2019 both regions are easy accessible with free of charge eVisa for citizens of more than 53 countries.

If you wish to spend most of your holiday time cycling and less time sitting in a minibus, then the best deal would be an impressive 8-day tour along the Lithuanian Seaside which is known as the cyclists’ paradise (p.10) or 9-day tour along the Nemunas River from the capital Vilnius to Klaipėda (p.16). You can also combine a few tours, e.g., Vilnius to Klaipėda, then continue to Riga (p.18) and further to Tallinn (p.19), and finally you can reach St. Petersburg if taking the newest circular tour around the Finish Gulf (p.21).

On most individual self-guided tours, you can take your own bicycle and carry your luggage yourself, or you are welcome to hire our bikes and order luggage transportation which is already included on all supported tours. For our guests we offer more than 400 quality trekking bicycles equipped with flatless tires and comfortable saddles, modern E-bikes (Pedelec) with Bosch driving system, road / cyclecross bikes, new MTB bikes for off-road cycling, and a lot of other tourist equipment of well-known brands. For families with children there is a wide range of tourist equipment from small bicycles to special 2-seat trailers and trailer-bikes.

We’d like to thank all our loyal customers and invite to experience new adventures with us!

Yours sincerely, Saulius Ružinskas & BALTIC BIKE TRAVEL Team

Tourist information and our cycle tour services

TOUR PLANNINGWe design bike tours to take you on the most appealing cycling routes, as much as possible away from major roads and along beautiful scenic trails where you can experience nature. You may book one or more of our ready made cycle tour packages, combining them into one longer route, for example, Klaipėda-Riga (p. 18) & Riga-Tallinn (p. 19), or ask for an individual tour program. Be patient to wait longer to get ready the tailored tour program with services as it takes time to receive all confirmations from our partner hotels and tour op-erators. often smaller guesthouses and B&Bs which are the only option in certain areas have limited space, then we have to redesign the tour program or ask you to change the travel dates. Most of our cycle tours, even group tours, are guaranteed with minimum 2 participants and trips are not cancelled at a short notice like many other tour operators do! After booking the tour you are free to book your flights as early as possible in order to get the best deal available.

ARRIVALFor cyclists coming to travel in the Baltics with own bikes we reccommend using ferry lines and book them through us:Lithuania: DFDS: Kiel (Germany) – Klaipėda, Karlshamn (Sweden) – Klaipėda; TT-Line: Trelleborg (Sweden) - KlaipėdaLatvia: Stena Line: Travemünde (Germany) – Liepaja, Tallink Silja Line: Stockholm (Sweden) – Riga or TallinnEstonia: Finnlines: Travemünde – Helsinki (Finland) and Tallink Silja Line / Viking Line: Helsinki – TallinnFor other travellers the most convenient is flying to Palanga (Klaipėda), Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn, Warsaw, Gdansk and St. Petersburg where our bike tours start or finish. Kaunas Airport (100 km from Vilnius) could be also used as an alternative for travels with low cost airlines to/from Lithuania. Besides existing important con-nections via Copenhagen (SAS, norwegian Air), Warsaw (LoT) and Riga (Air Baltic), there are direct flights to Palanga Airport from London Luton (Wizz Air), London Stanstead & New! Dublin (Ryanair), oslo & New! Stockholm (norwegian Air) and Dortmund in Germany (Wizz Air).
