• increasing federal funding by $100 million.
• conduct needs analysis to identify existing skills shortages and quantify the benefits of apprenticeships in meeting labor challenges

Registered Apprenticeship Roadmap
• roadmap for advancing apprenticeships, through the development of a new flexible industry‐recognized apprenticeship," Education Secretary Betsy DeVos
• the report calls for industry certifiers of apprenticeships. "it's not clear who's going to be certifying the certifiers,".
• SU model ‐ Industry certifiers would assess by accelerated lab training, online exams, and qualified skills mastery “practicum” & peer review

• A 2017 Center for Cyber Safety and Education report projects a global cybersecurity workforce shortage of 1.8 million by 2022 .
• There were an estimated 286,000 active openings for cybersecurity jobs in the US as of November 2017, according to CyberSeek,

• According to Cyberseek.org there were 285,681 cybersecurity‐related job openings from October 2016 ‐ September 2017 (in Virginia alone).
• RAP employers will hire work‐ready apprentices for 12 or 24 month programs.

Employer Acceptance Agreement
