Introduction to CVPA A group of passionate and dedicated players got together to explore how we can improve playing options and advance the sport that we love. Pickleball is growing rapidly and we want to “catch the wave” and be prepared. As a step towards developing our sport, the non-proft CVPA was formed in 2015. During this short period of time, we have grown to 204 members and 221 subscribers to our newsletter. CVPA serves the communities of Comox, Courtenay, Cumberland and the surrounding Regional District. What is Pickleball? Pickleball is a sport for all ages and skill levels. A paddle and a wife ball is used on a badminton sized court. With simple rules the game is easy to learn but can become very competitive for advanced players. Pickleball is widely recognized as one of the fastest growing sports in North America. Check out this video by NBC News Pickleball video - NBC News Our mandate is: * To assist and promote the growth of Pickleball as a game for all ages; * To assist with the development and utilization of local Pickleball facilities; * To assist with the improvement of the members level of skill and enjoyment; * To provide similar and related services as determined by the membership. Our vision is: * To improve outdoor facilities with a dream of having dedicated pickleball courts. * To create more communication systems and our website cvpickleball.ca will greatly enhance the sharing of information amongst players.
