Postgraduate Programs (CRPP) at Multimedia University.

Research Grant (External):

1. Motorola University Malaysia funded my Project title "Student Information Center"

Motorola University Malaysia gave us 5 PDA's, Bluetooth Card and other wireless

networking equipment.

Post Graduate Students supervision:

Supervised a post-graduate student under the research title "Towards a distributed with

decision support system for managing the execution of software projects in large enterprise"we focused on reducing the project and software module redundancy. Our System approach

helps the software project managers in monitoring and assessing the project tasks. We designeda model where the project management will act as a Hub of Knowledge for projects and tasks

undertaken in an enterprise. The student is about to submit his thesis.

Ph.D. Research:

I intend to work on development, designs and testing of application model and strategic

framework for the mobile information system. My research will propose a conceptualFramework for mobile learning that provides systematic support for mobile learning. This can

be replicated in many Higher education institutions. The evaluation will based on the projets of

M- learning in higher institutions and several studies of mobile learning contexts in developingcountries. Mobile learning projects will be used to explore the relationship between the

framework and mobile learning design requirements in practice. Similarly, the framework will

provide forward engineering support for the successful design of future mobile learningsystems. Research will focus on understanding the educational impact of using mobile devices

to collect scientific data as part of an Empirical Evaluation of Mobile Technology Acceptance

in M-learning. We will focus on three main areas: Reflection and Learning, Technology

acceptance evaluation issues. Development of Framework for Mobile learning.

I plan to spend the next few years working with experts, to do my Ph.D. and improve my

research skills.

Work on SBT Accounting System in M-Artal Poultry. SBT is GUI-based

American Software & stands for Small Business Transactions. SBT can use on

multi-user environment or on Standalone machine. SBT is available under FoxPro

2.6 for windows, Visual FoxPro 5.0 for windows 95/windows NT, Oracle +PowerBuilder and various other Platforms.

Performed the job of Designing/Building/Maintains the Artal 50 nodes Giga bit

Network at M-Artal Poultry Processing Plant. Worked on remote connectivity of ValueChicken Shops of M-Artal to Processing Plant and Sales Office.

Pakistan Communication International (PCI) Jan 1998 Mar 1999- Worked as a Network Support Engineer

Pakistan Communication Intl. (PCI) Company is Authorized Distributor of Accton and

SMC for Pakistan. Managed the customer support team. Responsible in designing,planning and implementation of LAN for the customers primarily based on Novell

NetWare.

Installed 10Base-2, 10Base-5 and 100Base-Tx AT&T structured cabling. Installed of Desktop PC's and Compaq 2500 & 4500 workgroup servers.

Installed of NT/Novell NetWare 3.x and 4 with TCP/IP connectivity.

Accton/ SMC Hubs, Switches:

Installed and configured Accton and SMC Hub, Switches and Routers.

Administration of IP addresses. Configured sub-net for class-C IP address. Installed & Configured Accton and SMC Cheetah 10/100 Mbps Adaptor.

Databases and Software Applications:

Involved in configuration of Netscape Suit Spot, which included enterprise web server,

proxy server and Winproxy on Windows for the Internet access on workstations.

Configuration of Post.Office Mail server with 50-user license. Configuration PC AnyWhere server and client software.

Configuration of SBT Accounting Software on Server and Clients.

Mail Servers:

Configuration of Microsoft Exchange server and maintain user ids and their mailboxes. Configuration of Email notifier Software on Workstations with NT workstation.

Teaching evaluation:

I was selected as best lecture based on Performance for year 2006 at our CIT

department at KAU, Jeddah.

I have been getting above 3.5 points in the teaching assessment for the last severaltrimesters. For trimester 2-session 2002/2003 I scored 4.2/5.0 for subject TIS2211 system

analysis and design at MMU, Melaka.

providing facilities to staff and student on the area of Mobile and Wireless NetworkComputing. We arrange Tutorials for the students and seminars on latest Issue in the mobile

and wireless Computing area.
