Working closely with the companies head of marketing on a freelance basis, I have been creating a large number of web banners and advertising tools for Europe’s leading holiday rentals company.

Brisfest Mar 2014 – to PresentPrint & Digital

In early 2014 I joined the Brisfest team as a volunteer graphic designer supplying print and web graphics for their Rave On Avon & Arcadia events. I am now also a member of the Brisfest committee meaning I am able to get more involved in the full process with regards to marketing and advertising.

As Gould’s in house graphic designer I learned many different processes including large format printing and cutting, fitting and screen printing on a large scale. Being involved in the full process gave me extremely valuable skills and experience within the sign writing and vehicle graphics sectors.

After completing my A-levels and Art foundation Diploma I started my career working for a sign writing company creating a wide range of advertising materials, from logos to signs to vehicle graphics. Wanting to expand on my skills I went on to study BA(Hons) Graphic Design at UWE and graduated this July.

As a fan of comic books and graphic novels I take a lot of my inspiration from this and have a passion for building stories and narratives.

Outside of my freelance work I am proud member of the Brisfest committee. As a Bristolian myself, I was very keen to get involved in Brisfest both creatively and personally. Recently I have worked on the Rave On Avon and Arcadia event graphics.

Brisfest is a not-for-profit charity that supports and promotes local music, art and culture whilst providing work placements, training, qualifications and routes into work for many local people. In 2014 I applied for the role of Volunteer Graphic Designer for Brisfest ’s Rave on Avon event. For this I created various different web elements and print including line-up posters, flyers and social media graphics.2015 brought, the spectacular, Arcadia to its hometown of Bristol for two nights only. I was delighted to design the after party posters and social media elements for this event.

Samantha is a level 4 trained massage therapist providing deep tissue, sports and remedial massage in the Bristol and Bath area. Samantha approached me wanting a complete design package including a website, business cards and flyers.

I decided to go with a mechanical, futuristic feel for Samantha’s brand. I felt it was extremely important that it looked clean and each aspect worked well individually providing many elements for future design use. The hexogen relates to nature, symbolising “ fitting together ”. This translates into her practice nicely. The warm blue I wanted to project an energetic or electric feel.I completely avoided black and chose a deep charcoal/carbon fibre for a base tone, I used this to add to the mechanical theme.


Web Print Web Branding

I have worked with Sami on close to 20 projects now. Her graphics work in the form of banners and logos have been used on websites, printed materials and online offers that have been

seen by millions on Facebook, Twitter & Groupon.

Her work designing logos for my directory sites has created a great "brand" from which all directories run. Along with around 30 other affiliate website logos and graphics she has pro-

duced for me.

Sami has also helped with graphics for the last 2 years for All your Life which provides luxur y pamper experiences. Through all your life her graphics have been seen by millions of Facebook

users.

I would highly recommend Sami, we will be continuing to use her!

Since 2011, Cai has been commissioning me to design various different web elements for many different businesses ranging from Spa to crowd funding. The largest projects we have collaborated on are All Your Life Spas and Travelopo. Rapidly expanding, All Your Life needed a new, fresh look for their website and banners. For this I provided web banners buttons and online adverts.

Travelopo, similar to All Your Life, needed clean, bright and air y new graphics for web and sales emails. Being a travel and holiday based business it was important that the customer felt at ease and relaxed so to add to the holiday shopping experience.

Cai and myself have formed a lasting and highly efficient business relationship and I look forwards to our next big project.

My final year at uni provided with me an opportunity to delve deep into a subject of my choice. The starting point of my final project was simply “Death”. Within this subject I explored many different aspects and practices from funeral, rituals and mourning attire to a lighter side of the inevitable.

I decided to focus on light humour and breaking the taboo. From this study i my favourite piece include 3D figures based on the popular Funko Pop Vinyl figures and a three part comic book series named “Little Reaper ”.

Little Reaper narrates the day to day life of a not-so-scary Grim Reaper and his struggles fitting into the mortal world.
