Outreach/Community Engagement

• Community Engagement Grant (2019-2020): I served as the co-investigator on this grant. In this role, I was involved in launching a summer reading readiness camp.

• Community Engagement Grant (2016-2017): As a part of this grant, I was involved in launching a hearing screening initiative for people with Parkinson’s disease in Oklahoma.

• Grandparent University (Summer 2016): This is a 2-day learning program where grandparents get to attend a major with their grandchildren. As one of the faculty members involved in this program, I offered sheep brain demonstration classes to the attendees.

• Summer Science Academy (Summer 2016): This program is sponsored by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education intend to promote interest in STEM professions among high school students. As a part of this program I delivered a 2-hour lecture on “Brain and its functions” to High School Students.
