Rapid Deployment of SAP Fiori Apps Version 3.20 Scoping Kit

This scope option helps optimize project delivery and minimize risk by detailed pre-requisite check for SAP Fiori apps in customer SAP landscape. It also evaluates the feasibility and implementation effort of enhancements (gap-fit analysis). The end result is a detailed scope document and pricing proposal for the customer enhancements. It can be sold on its own or as part of a larger implementation project.

Please note the scoping kit is mandatory except where the SSEM/SAM/CP who is selling the RDS can guarantee all of the following pre-requisites:customer has already identified which Fiori apps need to be deployed,no modifications of the standard Fiori screens are required(branding is not considered a modification),the backend process strictly follows SAP standard, i.e. no custom workflow, ABAP code or customizing.

In this scenario, the complete UI layer consisting of the central UI add-on, the product-specific UI add-ons and the SAP NetWeaver Gateway is contained in the ABAP front-end server. The ABAP back-end server contains the business logic and the back-end data.

Pros:Separates the business logic and the back-end data from the UI layer for the following strategic advantages: Decoupling the lifecycle of the UI apps from the back end, especially for the apps also that run on any database, which has

these advantages:

– Faster iterations for the UI apps

– Changes to the UI are possible without having development authorizations in the back end.

NetWeaver Gateway Central Hub Deployment


In this scenario, SAP NetWeaver Gateway system is deployed on the same server as the Business Suite.

Pros: No additional separate SAP NetWeaver Gateway system required.Cons: If multiple SAP Business Suite systems are used Gateway would have to be configured multiple times Upgrade of Add-Ons in a backend system in larger companies is usually only possible once or twice a

year. If embedded deployment is chosen, the system must not be used as a hub for additional backend

systems since this might lead to a situation where the SAP NetWeaver Gateway release of the hub system is lower than the version of the SAP NetWeaver Gateway backend components of the remote backend system(s). As a result Routing and composition cannot be used.

Q: What if the customer wants to purchase more than 1 Fiori app, what do they do?A: Customers can deploy the first 1 app as a part of the fixed fee service for the RDS

Q: What if the customer already owns the needed software licenses, how will the pricing look like?A: If the licenses are already purchased, then there is no need to buy any additional or specific software licenses.

Q: I don’t see some Fiori apps like Delayed Deliveries or My Quotation Pipeline in the list of apps in this RDS, why is that?A: Not all of SAP’s Fiori apps are part of this RDS. Only SAP Fiori apps that run on the same architecture or have a similar implementation effort are added to this rapid-deployment solution. This RDS only includes the so-called transactional Fiori apps.

Q: What if the customer has older software versions? Does upgrading to the newer version fall under the scope of the RDS?A: No. Upgrades typically require additional regression testing, which is not within the scope of the rapid-deployment solution. If requested, SAP services can help the customer with the upgrade and/or testing.

Q: What if the customer wants to add more users in the future?A: During the RDS 6 week implementation SAP/Partner will deliver a knowledge transfer to the customer so they can add as many users as they want in the future provided the necessary software licenses are bought.
