A part of this square is underlain by an approx. 1,000 m² large, former underground bunker. This underground bunker was detonated in 1946 by the Soviet army. As a result of the destruction of a supporting middle wall and the associated lowering of the cover plate, an unstable condition accompanied by the entry of groundwater set in, leading to a load limit for a partial area of the square. Implenia Spezialtiefbau GmbH was contracted to ensure the stability of the affected public area. To do this the bunker facility needed to be secured by means of primary filling with hydraulically hardening binder with a minimum compressive strength of up to 5 N/mm². By means of a secondary filling / post grouting residual cavities were sealed and the form-fitting connection to the cover plate was ensured. Quantities: 2,000 m³ hydraulic binder
