According to the survey:
We found that majority of the women are
uncomfortable exercising around different men
ogling at them while they are at it.
Majority also said that they would definitely
prefer more exercises that are specifically for
women as none of the gyms provide for this
type of training and are definitely lacking in this
area.
Screening:
Even though we got a good response for
having Zumba as a part of our training
routine, we are unable to give these services
as it is not very feasible for us as of now, so
we planned on only concentrating on
Gym, yoga and aerobics.
ABOUT THE GYM
Here at CURVES we promote a healthier lifestyle through exercise and healthy eating.
Studies have shown that regular exercise significantly increases life expectancy and improves overall health.
Regular physical activity reduces the risk of cancer, heart disease, and osteoporosis.
It can reduce or improve symptoms of menopause, PMS, diabetes, as well as numerous other conditions.
An improved self-image and increased energy level are frequent added benefits of exercise.
How we went about conceiving the
idea?
We first thought of starting a gym as that was
our key area but on conducting the survey we
found a niche that was still untapped by the
existing players which is to provide training
specially for women fulfilling a variety of
needs.
Therefore this is an apparent need that
exists at the surface and can easily be
recognized.
“Problem Inventory Analysis”
We have followed this technique where in we
approach the consumers regarding the product
which was a gym so that we can formulate
proper strategies and come up with an idea
which will deal with the complaints of the
customers.
Segmentation:
Geographic- urban and semi urban
population, considering where its going to be
located which is at the Caranzalem Circle.
Demographic:
Income: Medium to high income level
Age: 13 and up
Sex: Strictly female
Psychological:
lifestyle segmentation: Sociable: Look good benefit
Health conscious: medically recommended to stay fit.
Self-indulgent: to ultimately feel good about yourself.
Behavioral:
Benefits sought: Here we need to look at the
benefits customers are looking to fulfill by
trying our product.
Targeting:
Our target market would be any woman above
the age of 13.
Positioning:
We want to create a brand image of ourselves
under the name of “curves” and position
ourselves as the perfect destination for
different sorts of QUALITY fitness for women.
Where they feel good after coming to us and
feel that our product has given them value for
their money.
Product differentiation:
We differentiate our product on the basis of it
being exclusively for women providing the
most specific and the best training for a
woman thus helping her lead a more fit and
healthier lifestyle.

Promotion:
1. Put up posters in parlors and hospitals also leaving our visiting cards, specially to be given to pregnant women.
2. Give out leaflets to individual houses in Panjim, Porvorim, Miramar, Caranzalem and Dona Paula by means of newspaper insertions.
3. Initially have one hoarding on the Porvorim-Panjimhighway
4. Give away small invitation cards to women in certain places we partner with like parlors and hospitals etc…
5. The invitation card would read. “Join us and you’ll enjoy a great new experience that will see you feeling more healthy, looking better and improving your overall lifestyle. Don't just take our word for it: you can try Curves Fitness for FREE with our terrific one day pass.”
6. Guaranteed feeling of overall improvement.
7. Each member will be given an attractive member ship card which can be kept in their wallets, something like a smart card.
8. We will also distribute bands like the
„Livestrong‟ bands, but ours will be pink in
colour and will have the name curves printed
on it.
9. We will offer attractive discounts if you come
in groups of two or more.

5 weeks 6 kilos will be priced at Rs.2000/-
9 weeks 10 kilos will be priced at Rs.3000/-

We have found a variety of benefits women
have to gain from a product like ours and
this message will also be conveyed to our
potential and existing customers regularly.
Women need to be strong because they need to bear babies, carry their briefcases and get through life.
From adolescence through pregnancy, menopause and after menopause women need to have extra-strong bones at every age.
To achieve this, a woman needs to go through weight training session which could last anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on what she is doing.
By doing exercise a woman increases her metabolism, energy level; reduces stress; and looks and feels younger.
To reap the benefits of exercise, women need to work out with light, handheld weights and by following a particular routine.
Bone continually breaks down and is rebuilt automatically in the body. With age this system of bone repairing slows down. By working out with weights, no matter what our age we can stimulate bone growth.
Women need to use very light weights to build small shapely muscles.
