Skills Progression

Lesson Module Components

Mastery QuizzesShort, five-question quizzes assess each skill; responses are scored for educator review

Teacher-Graded ActivitiesAvailable as optional tasks to foster deeper speaking, listening, and writing skills

Progress ChecksAfter a student completes four skills, a Progress Check is dynamically built and administered to both spiral learning and ensure students are ready to receive additional skills. Scores inform and adapt a student’s learning path.

As students demonstrate mastery, learning is propelled forward; if additional remediation is needed, automated Building Blocks allow students to address gaps in learning by working on prerequisite skills.

Scaffold learning with high-quality curriculumFollowing each administration of our adaptive diagnostic assessment, or your Renaissance Star or NWEA Map assessment, students receive an individualized pathway of content within their zone of proximal development. The illustration below provides an example of how no more than four skills are selected at once, and what curriculum components each lesson module might contain.

Adaptive diagnostic assessments drive students’ unique learning paths, providing the proven roadmap for your students’ next steps.

Create data-driven small groupsSmall-group instruction is the bedrock of elementary success, but crafting meaningful groups requires a lot of time. Automatically sort students into similar-ability groups based on real-time diagnostic and learning-path data.

Build custom assignmentsGain more flexibility over what students work on at what time. Search for the standards-or skills-aligned content you want, then build your assignment to ensure students receive just-in-time instruction, remediation, and enrichment.
