Speech is the verbal means of communicating◦ Articulation: how speech sounds are made◦ Voice: Use of the vocal folds and breathing to
produce sound◦ Fluency: the rhythm of speech (A.K.A. stuttering)

When a person has trouble understanding others (receptive language), or sharing thoughts, ideas, and feelings completely (expressive language), then he or she has a language disorder.
When a person is unable to produce speech sounds correctly or fluently, or has problems with his or her voice, then he or she has a speech disorder.

Parent Faculty Association (PFA)
Volunteer Clearances include:◦ PA Clearances (Child Abuse & Criminal) are now FREE
to parents.◦ FBI Clearance (fingerprints) remains $27.00
If you’ve been a resident in PA for 10 or more years, you can sign an affidavit in lieu of the fingerprinting.
◦ Clearances are now good for 5 years. Raptor
◦ All volunteers and visitors must scan their drivers’ license in FES office through Raptor
◦ Scanned info is entered into an NASD database ◦ Raptor runs a check with national sex offender
database
Volunteer Policy
Revised NASD policy (#3130) states, “If a child will be absent for more than ten (10) school days, the student will be removed as a full-time student.”
Students will be re-enrolled in NASD/FES immediately upon return.
We will still provide missed work/assignments to students as deemed appropriate.
