Curriculum Newsletter YEAR GROUP 6
Dear members of IPSS Family,
Happy New Year and Welcome back! I am eager to have our students re-
turning to school and want to extend a special welcome to the new stu-
dents joining our school. I can’t believe it is already second semester. Time
is flying by so quickly.
I am delighted to introduce this first edition of the IPSS Curriculum News-
letter. We intend to make it a regular publication (monthly) and to use it to
keep you in touch with news and developments which relate mainly imple-
mentation of our curriculum.
We know a strong partnership with parents will make a great difference in
your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our chil-
dren’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry
out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s
learning by ensuring that he/she:
1) Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning ex-
perience
2) Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
3) Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
4) Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her
school life
5) Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
6) Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to the next
level of education
Thank you for your continued involvement, investment, and collaboration!
It is through our partnership with our parents that we are able to continue
to provide an excellent education. Thank you for partnering with us on this
journey.

PHILOSOPHY
At the International Primary School of Sarajevo:
• We believe that all our pupils and staff are
unique human beings, capable of spiritual,
moral, intellectual and physical growth and
development.
• We value truth, freedom, justice, human rights,
the law and collective effort for the common
good.
• We believe that pupils need to be taught to
learn and build on new skills and develop
socially.
• We value families as sources of love and
support for all their members, and as the basis of
a society in which people care for others.
• We believe we should respect the people, places
and environment around us.
• We also wholly believe that pupils learn to
value and treat others with respect, not only for
what they have but also for what we can do for
them.
• We recognize and celebrate achievement.
• We believe relationships are fundamental to
the development and fulfillment of others, and
ourselves and for the good of both the local and
wider international community.
