– Scaffolding for guardrail sandblast and paint.

– Time extension of 10 days granted to accommodate revised Type V repairs.

– Overall project is 95% complete.

� Attention Areas– Coordination continues with Airport Transit

System and Landside Operations.

pertaining to FAA lights and Navaids.

– Pricing FAA requested changes.

– Discussion of funding for those changes.

– Repair of EMAS areas destroyed by aircraft involvement on 7/18/08.

Installation of stairway walls and slab on grade is on-going. Demolition south of the old stairways at Belmont completed. Demolition continues north of Belmont. Caisson installation on the south side of Belmont continues.

� Work continues on historic station house, electrical room, elevators and platform railings. Installation of station house roof and curtain wall ongoing. New sidewalks on the south side of Chicago Ave and two-way traffic on Franklin opened on July 18, 2008. Temporary stairs on Franklin to be removed by August 1, 2008.

� Diversey (Station Opening: August 4, 2008)

� Contractor continues with painting, signage installation, and station detail work. New station to open for service on August 4, 2008.

� Damen (Completion: December 2008)

� Detailing of new platform structural steel, historic stationhouse rehabilitation, and new station house build out continues. Installation of platform decking, guardrails, tactile edging, and electrical work ongoing. Elevator installation has begun.

� Irving Park (Completion: January 2009)

� Detailing steel, bent foundations and platform conduit work continues. Stationhouse and elevator tower masonry and platform guardrail work has begun.

� Paulina (Completion: May 2009)

� Installation of bent foundations, platform decking, station masonry, painting of structural steel, platform conduit and guard rails is on-going.

�The Loop track renewal work is currently scheduled to resume the weekend of September 5-7, 2008. Work will include the replacement of 1,100 track feet from Randolph/Wabash to 250 feet South of Madison.

�DBEC is installing train stops, signal platforms, and local signal cable in the Loop. DBEC is installing conduit in the LaSalle Street Trolley Tunnel. DBEC continued with switch machine replacement in the Loop. DBEC is performing prep work to prepare for the cutover of GRS1 to GRS2 audio circuits.

� Tower 18 work is currently scheduled for Fall 2009. DBEC is currently investigating ways to accelerate this work so that it can begin in Spring 2009.

� The scope of work consists of pavement resurfacing, parking lane reconstruction, new sewer construction, lining of existing sewer to remain, and installation of new landscaping and streetscaping elements along Milwaukee Ave. between Montrose and Gale St. Included is new curb and gutter, new sidewalk with ADA ramps, replacement of existing lighting with Chicago 2000 street light system, modernization of six traffic signals, stamped pavement crosswalks, 120 new trees with cast iron tree grates, and decorative street furniture (such as benches, trash receptacles, and bike racks). The Higgins Avenue Triangle will also be improved with new granite pavers and lighting.

� This project will make the station fully accessible to people with disabilities, and entails many new improvements and amenities including two new elevators to the inbound and outbound platforms connected to the 11th Street Bridge.

� The existing 12th Street Metra Station will remain open to passengers throughout construction. Most work will occur during non-rush hour periods. The existing station and bridge will be removed once the new station is completed.

� All platform foundation, decking, and steel work for Phase 3 work is complete. The west tower steel, walkway, and precast work is complete. The east tower work is ongoing, and installation of the steel windows is 25% complete.
