SIDS at lowest level ever 15 August, 2016

SIDS annual statistics show that rates of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) in England and Wales are at the lowest level since records began, new figures show. An Office for National Statistics (ONS) report shows there were 128 in 2014, compared with 165 in 2013. Perinatal Care audit maternity care 12th

August 2016

A national audit of the care of women and babies looked after by NHS maternity services across England, Scotland and Wales is underway. The National Maternal and Perinatal Audit (NMPA) aims to evaluate a broad range of care processes and outcomes in order to identify good practice and areas for improvement. It covers care at home, in midwife units and in obstetric units. ~ UK heart disease and stroke death rates now lower than cancer Behind the Headlines Monday August 15 2016 In 2014, around 167,000 people in the UK died due to cancer "Heart disease deaths now lower than cancer – but obesity crisis means this may not last," the Daily Mirror reports.
