Currency Converion

Following is the screenshot for the Rate Application and Sales Revenue Application. This shows the dimensions involved in this process

Report Currency

The Rate application has the following data

This shows the base currency is INR and the conversion from INR -> USD is 1:40 and for INR-> EUR is 1:50.

Before currency conversion the data in the Sales revenue is given below

This is to show one of the transactions having INR 20. After running the currency conversion for reporting currencies (EUR and USD) the values are shown below.

The INR 20 is converted into USD @conversion of 1 USD = 40 INR and into EUR @conversion of 1 EUR = 50 INR

Also modified currency exchange rate for another period and ran the currency conversion. Sample data is given below

Currency exchange (Rate application)

Sales revenue table after conversion (Sales Rev App). The original transaction is in INR which is 400 INR for period 2011.2

Also we need to maintain entries in the business rules table for the account type (AVG). The formula field can be used to control the calculation.

Choose the currency conversion as the package to run

Enter the values based on the requirement and click next

Once you complete the steps then you go to the status and review the package run status. Then you retrieve the data in EXCEL spreadsheet or in BPC/BW infocube to validate.
