How to Apply Instructions for Parents/Guardians

For Gifted and Talented Class Placement, please complete sections 1 and 2 and attach all relevant documents as listed below:

• Gifted and Talented Application Form • NAPLAN results (Year 5) • Year 5 Semester 1 and 2 school reports and Year 6 Semester 1 school report • Supporting evidence – certificates, ICAS, leadership achievements, etc

Please return this application to Cumberland High School on or before Tuesday 21 July 2020.

Section 3

Parents/Guardians are required to forward Section 3 to their Primary Schools.

This section of the application form is to be completed by the Class Teacher and the Primary School Principal. The Primary School Principal will then fax Section 3 to 9872 5381 or email back to Cumberland High School at cumberland-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au

Scholarship Applications

Parents/Guardians who are interested in applying for a Scholarship in addition to our Gifted and Talented Class Placement, please complete Sections 1, 2 and the Scholarship Application Form and return to Cumberland High School on or before Tuesday 21 July 2020. Please forward Section 3 to your Primary School.

Selection Process Information

• All documentation must be received by our school office on or before Tuesday 21 July 2020. • The Gifted and Talented panel will review all applications. • Successful applicants will be notified of an interview time and date with the Principal of

Cumberland High School prior to final outcome. • All applicants will be notified of final outcome by Friday 11 September 2020

Cumberland High School

Year 7 Scholarships 2021 Information

Cumberland High School is a school of excellence that takes great pride in nurturing the development of empowered, resilient and productive learners and citizens. The diversity of the student body, excellent academic results, rich extracurricular offerings supported by our highly qualified and committed staff, are the elements that combine to create this outstanding school.

Cumberland High School is offering five scholarships for Year 7 students in 2021. These scholarships will be offered to students from our Community of Schools.

The successful recipients will be determined by the Cumberland High School Scholarship Panel. The Scholarship panel will consider the following criteria to select the successful applicants:

• NAPLAN results (Year 5) • Year 5 and Year 6 school reports • Student leadership and outstanding student involvement in primary school activities • Primary School Teacher and Principal endorsement • Student’s Gifted and Talented Application

Each scholarship is for one year (Year 7) and consists of an $955 school credit for this period.

Scholarship holders will be offered the following:

PLEASE NOTE: Full school uniform costs will be the responsibility of the parents as will any other excursion or incursion costs during the school year.

School Expectations for Scholarship Holders

• Students will be placed in the Gifted and Talented Class

• Students will be required to participate actively, work diligently and submit all assessments

• Students will be required to participate in the Year 7 Camp

• Students will be required to participate in all extension activities organised

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by Friday 11 September 2020.
