Hua Hin International Kite Festival
Hua Hin is the best place to celebrate the Kite festival
This festival will take place every two years during
March at The King Rama VI Army Camp just north of
Hua Hin.
This event has been taking place for last 10 years and is growing in popularity each
time
Tourist who are coming to the kite festival can see traditional
Thai kites, small kites, stunt kites, big kites and international
displays
Individual and group competitions takes place with participants coming
from Canada, New Zealand, France, China,
India and Singapore MARCH
Songkran
AprilSongkran is one of the
most important festivals for Thai people. Also called
the water festival, Songkran usually takes
place in mid April.
For Songkran festival, Thai people clean their houses,
Buddha statues, etc, in hope of washing all the
misfortunes of the previous year away
Traditionally, the ritual was to pour water into elder’s palms to ask for
blessings.
Visakha Bucha
The birthday of the Buddha is celebrated at local Buddhist temples on the full moon day in May.
Candlelit processions are held and tourists are welcome to take part.
It’s a solemn day and is accompanied by lots of fun community activities in Hua Hin.
