It was here that the Jacobite army fought to reclaim thethrone of Britain fromthe Hanoverians for a Stuart king.The British army was equally determined to stop thishappening. The ferocious European war had come toScotland - dividing families and setting clan against clan.

With over 1,200 dead in just one hour Culloden wasa short but bloody battle – the last to be fought onBritish soil. Its outcome was not a foregone conclusionbut the odds were stacked against the Jacobites.

Stand where the½ghting took place and feel theemotion of this brutal battle.

• Use the animated Battle table to provide a bird’s eye view of thebattle½eld’s topography and the forces’ tactics and understand howthese contributed to the outcome. As the clouds part a narrationhelps you to visualise the sequence of events as the battle isre-enacted before your eyes using the latest graphic technology.

• Imagine what it was like to be at the centre of the action when youvisit the Battle immersion theatre. Here a 4 minute long, 360°½lmrelives the horror of the battle.

• Appreciate the true scale of the battle when you visit the new rooftop area. Fromthis platformyou’ll see a completely different viewof the battle½eld.
