• The Cambridge University Chinese Orchestra Society (CUCOS) was founded in 2007 with the hope of giving a new musical perspective to the community in UK and to share oriental musical excellence with people around the world.

• Every year we put on a highly successful concert at Cambridge’s main concert hall, the West Road Concert Hall, and last year ( Feb , 2011 ) had a full audience.

• May 2007 - Founded by 12 Cambridge students - “The Original 12”.

• November 2007 - First concert in Cambridge • February 2008 - Touring to London and Oxford • December 2008 - Annual concert: Discovering the Orient. • March 2009 - Collaboraiton concert "Harmonica Fantasia" with

world renowned harmonica player - Mr. Jia-Yi He • February 2010 - Fitzwilliam Museum Promenade Concert. • February 2010 - Annual concert: Prelude to Spring.• February 2011- Annual concert: Dawn to Spring (春晓)• 台湾中央社记者对春晓进行了独家报道和专访

2011.10: 全英学联主动找我们寻求合作,我们派出两名民乐手参加一个中国文化宣传会 @British Petrol Site 。

The Society consists of a Chinese InstrumentDepartment (CID) and a Western Instrument Department (WID). We also run various instrumental classes throughout the year.

Both Western Instrument Department (WID) and Chinese Instrument Department (CID) are non-audition orchestras and are very open to any one who is interested in Chinese music. Both western and Chinese instrument players are most welcomed to join us!
