Theblendhasbeenestablishedas30/70(30%bituminouswith70%Sub-bituminous).Thisproportionwillbeadjusted
afterthefirstphaseofthecontract,withthecoalexpectedtobeimportedfromIndonesiaandAustralia.Sub-bituminouscoalfromIndonesiaandbituminouscoalfromAustraliasatisfythecoalqualitysuitableforitspowerproduction,withtheofferofcompetitivecoalpricesandshortertransportationdistancesfromtheminestoVietnamcomparativetoothercoalsuppliers.
EVNGENCO1hasstipulatedthatallcoalrequiredtomeetcommittedcapacityforpowergenerationfromDuyenHai3ThermalPowerPlantmustbecontractedunderlong-termcoalsupplyagreements(TheDuyenHai3thermalpowerplant’slifeisdesignedtobe30years)witheachhavingatermofnotlessthan10years.
Duringthefirstyearofoperation,therewillbeaprogressive‘ramp-up’incoalvolumeconsumedaseachunitofthepowerstationisbroughtintoservice.ThetotalamountofimportedcoalrequiredannuallyforDuyenHai3ThermalPowerPlantisexpectedtobebetween3.7and3.9millionmetrictonnes.AnnualConsumptionCoalVolumeofDH3isshowninthebelowtable.
