Because the tutors are always around, we get loads of one-to-one time with them and they have adapted the course to suit our needs. I am now in New York and have just been working with Saatchi & Saatchi. Without CSVPA and their belief in me this just wouldn’t have been possible.Scott Walker · UK BA (Hons) Graphics & Illustration Offered internship with Disney, accepted Saatchi & Saatchi. Now at Parsons New York

BA (HONS)GRAPHICS & ILLUSTRATION Awarded by Kingston University www.csvpa.com/bagraphics

This course offers a dynamic and exciting approach to the practice of Graphics and Illustration. By fostering the development of great ideas and challenging existing thinking about the subject, students have the creative space to define their future and find an individual voice within the fields of visual communication.

Projects and assignments are at the heart of the course, and as a student, you are encouraged to explore innovative and experimental ways of defining your practice as a designer or illustrator. Workshops and talks by industrial professionals open up a broad range of media, processes and techniques which are reinforced in group and one-to-one tutorials.

At the end of each year, you will also have the opportunity to exhibit your work. Every student in years one and two are guaranteed a place in the Cambridge Art & Design Exhibition. All final year students participate in our graduate show in London.

Our degree is designed in collaboration with and validated by Kingston University, London. On completion you will be awarded the same qualification and certificate as a student who has graduated from Kingston University.

We are the only independent Art & Design College in the world to offer this Kingston University awarded degree.

WHAT SHOULD I INCLUDE IN MY PORTFOLIO?Your portfolio is the chance to show us your skills and your passion and as a guide we would like to see some, but not necessarily all, of the following:

• drawing of any kind

• project and self-initiated work, to include work in progress or finished pieces, showcasing a level of visual skill and creativity

• evidence of primary and secondary research, which might include information from reference books, magazines, exhibition or museum visits

• your thinking and development process in sketchbooks or notebooks, including reflective thinking

• personal ideas and areas of interest (if fashion is your passion, show us)

• experimentation with a range of different media and materials, showing evidence of innovative thinking where possible

• a breadth of interest in and exploration of a range of art and design disciplines

• evidence of cultural awareness, identifying social and cultural influences on your work.

If you are submitting your portfolio digitally, you should include between 10–15 images in total, showcasing a range of work, which might include sketchbook pages.

Subject to change. Timetable provides guidance only on how a week can be structured, and will change and evolve during your progression through the degree programme.
