Transcript of CSR Managed Services from TalentSprint
India is a country of myriad contradictions. On the one hand, we have grown to be one of the largest
economies in the world, and an increasingly important player in the emerging global order; on the other
hand, India is still home to the largest number of people living in absolute poverty. What emerges is a picture
of uneven distribution of the benefits of growth which many believe, is the root cause of social unrest.
The CSR clause within the recently enforced Companies Act, 2013 is a step towards addressing these issues.
As companies make CSR a mandate, the need of the hour is a long-term strategy that ties in with the firm's
philosophy, values, expertise and business. CSR today is moving away from ad-hoc donations and events to
a more long-term strategic engagement that will reap social and business dividends for the company in the
long run. An efficient and trusted implementation partner with direct access to beneficiaries and expertise in
creating an impact is one of the most important components of a successful CSR program.
TalentSprint, a leader in professional skill development and integrated talent management assists
companies pursue their CSR activities effectively, while remaining aligned with the requirements of the
Companies Act, 2013.
Why choose Skill development as CSR initiative
In today's era of knowledge based economy, quality of workforce is more important than quantity. In fact
having a lower head count of skilled manpower is much better than a manpower whose larger portion is
unemployable. Considering the present situation, this is the future India is rushing towards. And this is one
of the biggest challenges that we as a nation are ever going to face. Researches show that if we continue in
the current pace, we would have a skill gap of 75-80% across Industry sectors. There will be people but with
skills that corporate do not require, and jobs for which the right fit is not available. The economic impact of
this vicious cycle is something one can estimate, but the social impact of having a powerhouse of educated
yet frustrated youth who are directionless with no jobs in hand is unimaginable.
